Hi,

UltraISO is the most promising ISO handler I've ever tried. With some minor work & improvements listed here, I think it'll be the best of all:

- bug: Unsaved sort type. When you try to sort the right-side file lists according to name, type... it's momentary & reverts back to default after you change directories. I think that's because of the used non-standard file-list-box which caused the bug.
- bug: ISO change leftovers. When you try to modify an existing image, sometimes UltraISO writes chunks of data into its install directory & left it there until they're manually erased causing space shortage. I think this is fixed now with new approach.
- bug/change: Space considerations. Previous UISO's are space-saver & operate on existing images without need for extra big space, such when you add or delete only needed part is changed. But this approach causes problems when you delete smt. to fit to CD & try to burn it but observing the image size doesn't decreased at all. New approach fixes this but like other ISO handlers it rewrites entire image which requires double space. Is there a way to fix this with old approach?
- bug: No optimization by default. If you change default ISO characteristic optimize, it reverts back to un-optimize with first blank image when UltraISO is loaded(start UISO & just control current blank image's optimize). But if you click 'new' just once, optimize setting is applied.
- bug: Modified ISO size isn't saved. UISO provides to edit ISO size bar; ...210-your size-650mb... to see if your image fits your space. But this setting isn't saved between sessions & chosen just the bigger preset value of the range. e.g: you edit to 300mb, it changes to 650mb upon next restart.
- feature: Nero's +12mb. As your progs are Nero compliant, you should be aware of the Nero v6.6 Reloaded with short lead-out which causes +12mb gain without overburning. I think your default; 185-210-650-703mb... settings should be modified for Nero's feature. Like a checkbox for additional 12mb or 185-197*-210-222*-650-662*... type of settings.
- feature: Check optimized image size. I heard UISO is chosen because of its feature to optimize such as combining 4 full size CDs into 1 CD if they have much files in common. But through the browse/add files part of process, the size bar shows non-optimized size. For example; you compiled 340mb expecting to be optimized to 300mb but there's no way of knowing that this would occur until you completely built the image. It'll be a pain if you have higher CD sizes with fragmented disk drives which require 'over-add / build / check / if not try again' approach. I'd like to suggest a toolbar button just doing the optimization part(I) & showing the optimized size with asking user to abort/proceed to image building part(II). Also as a bug, sometimes built image size exceeds the proposed one with few mbs.

Sorry for this long message. I'd like to hear about your thoughts... ;)

Thanks...

P.S: Please do consider to use standard BBCode approach where every other forum I've attended are using. Because writing here takes much longer time with iB. Even ;) doesn't have an emoticon...

This is a bug to be fixed.

This is due to 'Super Restore' feature. When you modify an existing image, UltraISO will save all data segments changed, then you can recovery everything by pressing 'Alt+Backspace'.

You can disable this feature at 'Options'->'Configuration' dialogue.

You can switch to previous mode - just disable option 'Recompile ISO image when saving directly'.

As optimizing is very time consuming, UltraISO always disable this option automatically for new atctions.

Thanks for your suggestion. This feature will be added soon.

This feature is ready. It is 'File'->'Simulated save'. A toolbar button may be nice.
