What's new:
+) Can run boot image file(.BIF) of Acronis products (TrueImage, Disk Director, etc.)
*) Fixed a bug with booting from some USB-CD/DVD devices
*) Some minor improvements and bug fixes

Download: < http://www.ezbsystems.com/easyboot/download.htm >

Notes for integrating Acronis TrueImage:
1) Use UltraISO 7.23ME to extract boot file of a bootable CD
created by Acronis TrueImage, save it as trimg.bif
2) Use 'bootinfotable;run trimg.bif' as menu command to load it

Posted by Tuurtje on Oct. 21 2004,15:58
xoben, what if you wan't both on one CD/DVD

Because you state that Trueimage must be named: trimg.bif

Suppose i want to add DiskDirector too, how should i name it.

Thanks

Additionally, I have another question regarding this change...  I created a bootable CD image with hard drive emulation.  I then used Ultra ISO to pull the boot image from the CD, and Ultra ISO saved it as a BIF file.  When I saw this thread I thought maybe this BIF file would be the same thing as an Acronis image, as mentioned in this thread, and I might be able to execute the CD from my Easy DVD menu.  I saved the file as trimg.bif.

I used the command (without the quotes) "bootinfotable;run trimg.bif" and tested with VMware.  VMware crashed.  Is there any way I can boot from this image from the Easy Boot menu?

not MUST. You can name the boot image file as you want, trimg.bif is only a suggestion. EasyBoot does not care the name anyway.

Acronis images are using 'No Emulation' mode, but bootinfotable is needed for this case.

Sorry, EasyBoot does not support harddisk emulation yet.

You can do it this way: (xxx.bif is your boot file extracted)
1) Get a copy of BCDW from < http://bootcd.narod.ru/index_e.htm >
2) Save bcdw.bin to c:\easyboot\disk1\ezboot
3) Make a directory c:\easyboot\disk1\bcdw, and create a text file there, name it as bcdw.ini, and enter following strings line by line:
;====================
\EZBOOT\xxx.bif

[Options]
RootMenu=\BCDW\BCDW.INI
;===================
4) Use 'run bcdw.bin' as menu command

Thanks, xoben.  I actually found a previous post which talked about using BCDW and visited their site.  But I wasn't sure if that would work in my specific case and I couldn't quite tell after reading the information at the BCDW site exactly what it would do to my setup anyway.  I had to go with hard drive emulation because one of the computers I boot the CD on will not read floppy emulation on the CD unless the floppy image on the CD is a normal 1.44 disk.  (I found that odd...)

You said EasyBoot doesn't support harddisk emulation yet.  I'll be keeping an eye on future releases...  And I'll be giving your solution a try as well.

I really appreciate all your quick and informative replies in the forum.  It's this activity, combined with all the in-depth information posted in the forums, which convinced me to purchase EasyBoot and Ultra ISO.

EDIT
It works like a charm...  I even hexed the file so it says "Loading Ghost" now...  Thanks again!

Gork,

do NOT be convinced of buying EasyBoot & UltraISO... BUY THEM!!!
They work great and Xoben is working hard to improve and update these so often as possible. Price is fair too.

Don't you agree?

This procedure works fine except for one little detail:

On the CD created by TrueImage is an additional directory called "Recovery Manager" which is needed if you want support for the recovery manager.

Where do I need to place this directory in order for it work? I tried putting it in the disk1 directory and in the disk1\ezboot directory.

Or, is this simply not possible?

It is disk1, not disk1\ezboot. And Joliet option should be checked when making a bootable ISO.

Hannes the Recovery Manager folder and readme.txt go into EasyBoot\Disk1 it does work but doesn't work under VMWare or Virtual PC.

Posted by Overkiller on Dec. 21 2005,02:33
Just started using ultraiso&easyboot, cause culdnt run trueimage with bcdw :( i create bif file as you worte, put it in directory as other boot files. All other work(memtest86+,goldmemory, ghost, etc), but trueimage crashesh as in BCDW - it says startin' boot loader...... then "boot failed"... ni think it wants to find Recovery manager folder, i put this folder into easyboot dir and in iso root dir but it TrImage cannot run... what am i doin wrong?
ps bif file created in uiso usin "save boot" file command
pps command in easyboot: bootinfotable;run trimg.bif

I use trueimage 9.0
by the way.... dont know why, uiso  function "extract boot file from cd\dvd" doesnt work - read error

To Overkiller

Step 1. Start and run ”Bootable Rescue Media Builder”.  Choose to use floppy [A:]. You need eight diskettes (I think).
When finished creating diskettes. Start EasyBoot>> Tools>> “Make floppy image”. Attention: Make image using FLOPPY ONE created bye ”Bootable Rescue Media Builder”. This one is used as “Seed image” in step 2.

Step 2. Again use EasyBoot>> Tools>> “Create new floppy image”. Change “Image size(KB)” to at least 11520.  Use image created in “step 1” as “Seed Image”. Then injects files from every floppy (from floppy one too), to this oversized image. This has been described bye “Incroyable HULK” (can’t for the moment find this topic, but credit goes to “Incroyable HULK”).

Give this oversized image a new name trueima.img? (default name in this case is 11520.img).
In EasyBoot as usual: run trueima.img

I thought about that... wanted to run from iso. While making disketts read your reply. Thanks a lot.

The original post is pinned on the first page of this section:

The step are almost the same as eureka described except that I take the content after creating each floppy (much faster that having to read the floppy and more reliable)

cheers!

hi, i have many questions so i hope to be patien,
i tried to extract the boot file using ultraiso from acronis true image bootable cd and i got this:
1-one file called readme
2-folder called recovery manager: in this folder i found the fowlloing files...( bootmenu , bootwiz , f11.cfg , kernel , mouse , ramdisk )
so...where is the boot file ?and where should i put these folder & files in easyboot directory

Posted by xoben on Apr. 09 2006,07:35
Tips for extracting boot file by UltraISO:
1) Choose 'File'->'Open CD/DVD', select the right CD/DVD drive and click 'Open'
2) Choose 'Bootable'->'Save boot file' to save a BIF file in c:\easyboot\disk1\ezboot

Im using TrueImage Workstation 9.1 build 3666
but when I look at the ISO of an resque cd I no longer can see the Recovery Manager Directory.

Has anyone found a way to get this?

Posted by Tmod on Jun. 26 2006,15:37
The way I did TI Home 9.0 was to create a rescue cd ISO from within TI and then extract the boot info from it using Ultra Iso.

Name the boot info file ti.bif and then run the following command to run it.

bootinfotable; run ti.bif

Posted by Jeremyotten on Jun. 28 2006,15:06
Yes I already new this. But on old version 8 cd there was A recovery Manager directory within the ISO. Now it can't be seen. I need this directory to make the Activate recovery manager option (F11) work from the bootcd.

So my question is does anybody now how to extract it?

Thanx in Advance

Welcome to EasyBoot @ManagerSir :)

Quote: "I want  make boot cd Acronis by ezboot"

As far as I can see - you are doing things correctly ???

However, you cannot be sure it works correctly when testing in wmWare :O

You can test using MobaLiveCD to see if it works better - download < HERE >

Tip! Don't create 'harddisk image' - press No when program is asking!

Finally, recommended is to open folder EasyBoot\resource and copy files 'memdisk', 'isolinux and file 'syslinux' to folder EZBOOT, overwriting existing files :)

TNX 4 Ur answer
In other words,:
How do I run the Acronis Image program in EZB?

Posted by balder on May 10 2013,11:35
@ManagerSir

Quote: "How do I run the Acronis Image program in EZB?"

Simply by copying 'rescue ISO-file' of acronis to folder EZBOOT and set menu command: run acronis.iso  (or whatever name you use to ISO-file)

Note: only tick 'Joliet' when creating ISO in EasyBoot
Joliet may bee needed in case you have some linux application in build later on :O

regards balder

...
I did :

EZB run but

"starting acronis loader....
boot failed , press any key."

Posted by balder on May 11 2013,01:22
@ManagerSir

Quote: ""starting acronis loader.... boot failed , press any key." "

Have you done this to EasyBoot: "open folder EasyBoot\resource and copy files 'memdisk', 'isolinux and file 'syslinux' to folder EZBOOT, overwriting existing files" ???

Is it possible for you to give me download to this rescue ISO-file ???

Note: you could send link in a message so only I can take part of download :;):

You have ' Your Messenger' in the upper right corner

You could also test using my script 'easyboot-iso.script'
You have download of script-collection below in every post I write in this forum
Read carefully 'READ_ME.html' before you start using script-collection

"Have you done this to EasyBoot: "open folder EasyBoot\resource and copy files 'memdisk', 'isolinux and file 'syslinux' to folder EZBOOT, overwriting existing files""

yes There are.

but too

"starting acronis loader....
boot failed , press any key."

Posted by balder on May 11 2013,03:56
@ManagerSir

Quote: " "starting acronis loader.... boot failed , press any key."

What version of acronis rescue ISO is this (tell me size and sort of ISO-file) ???
Note: acronis has a lot of different tools so it is vital that you are specific what kind of acronis tool you are using :O

EDIT!
You could also test with a different menu command
Instead of 'run acronis.iso' you can test using bcdw acronis.iso

Note: bcdw only works when run from CDFS-filesystems (CD\DVD-unit) and NOT from USB device

Acronis True Image Home 2011 (V build 5519)
from tools select: Rescue Media Builder (to create a bootable media with Acronis)
and I'll check by bcdw...

Posted by ManagerSir on May 11 2013,07:15
OOOOOOOOOOOKKKKK
very very TNX
by MobaLiveCD was OK
Apparently the correct answer was not vmWare

thanks a lot
now I'll check by real CD....

Posted by balder on May 11 2013,09:19
@ManagerSir

Quote: "Acronis True Image Home 2011 (V build 5519)"

Are you saying this version of acronis rescue ISO-file cannot be properly launched using 'standard' menu command;  run acronis.iso  ???   Because this shouldn't be any problem :O

But it works with 'bcdw' - is this correct what happens ???

Quote: "correct answer was not vmWare"

I'm not surprised - vmWare is not 100% reliable
On the other hand - no 'virtual test environment' is 100% bullet-proof :;):
