Is there a way to get erd2005 iso to boot with bcdw?  I get NTDLR error each time.  I get the same with a PE boot disc.  Can I do something to get both to work within Easyboot?

Thanks,

Issues concerning BartPe and ERD.

Erd 2005
Do it this way:

1. Copy folder I386 from ERD-CD (or from ISO-file) to EasyBoot\disk1

2. Rename I386 to “ERD5” (no quotes).

3. Copy ident files (WIN51 and WIN51IS) from root on ERD-CD (or from inside of ISO-file) to EasyBoot\disk1

4. Copy w2ksect.bin to ezboot-folder (w2ksect.bin comes with EasyBoot. You find it originally in ezboot-
folder).

5. Rename w2ksect.bin to erd2005.bin

Now to hex edit:
Step 1. Start EasyBoot >> Tools >> Replace Text… >> Find file >> erd2005.bin in ezboot-folder
In “Text to find” you put in “I386” (no quotes) and in “Replace with” you put in “ERD5” (no quotes) push “Replace”.  Only one text string should be replaced if you have done right!
Attention: use uppercase (CAPS). Like this ERD5 not erd5

Step 2. This is a little bit tricky.
Again use EasyBoot >> Tools >> Replace Text… >> Find file >> setupldr.bin in folder ERD5
In “Text to find” you put in “i386” (no quotes and note: i386 not I386) and in “Replace with” you put in “ERD5” (no quotes) push “Replace”. Three text strings should be replaced if you have done right!
Attention: use uppercase (CAPS). Like this ERD5 not erd5

Step 3.  Again use EasyBoot >> Tools >> Replace Text… >> Find file >> setupldr.bin in folder ERD5
In “Text to find” you put in “I386” (no quotes and note this time you use: I386 not i386) and in “Replace with” you put in “ERD5” (no quotes) push “Replace”. One text string should be replaced if you have done right!
Attention: use uppercase (CAPS). Like this ERD5 not erd5

Use run command in EasyBoot as usual: run erd2005.bin
---------------------------------------
Tutorial for BartPe:

1. Move/copy folder “programs” from BartPe to EasyBoot\disk1

2. Rename i386 folder in BartPe to BART

3. Move/copy folder BART to EasyBoot\disk1

4. Copy w2ksect.bin to ezboot-folder (w2ksect.bin comes with EasyBoot. You find it originally in ezboot-
folder).

5. Rename w2ksect.bin to bart.bin

Now to hex edit:
Step 1. Start EasyBoot >> Tools >> Replace Text… >> Find file >> bart.bin in ezboot-folder
In “Text to find” you put in “I386” (no quotes) and in “Replace with” you put in “BART” (no quotes) push “Replace”.  Only one text string should be replaced if you have done right!
Attention: use uppercase (CAPS). Like this BART not bart

Step 2. Again use EasyBoot >> Tools >> Replace Text… >> Find file >> setupldr.bin in folder BART
In “Text to find” you put in “i386” (no quotes and note: i386 not I386) and in “Replace with” you put in “BART” (no quotes) push “Replace”. Four text strings should be replaced if you have done right! (if using XP-sp2 as base when making BartPe)
Attention: use uppercase (CAPS). Like this BART not bart

Don’t forget ident files on the root (EasyBoot\disk1): Win51ip and Win51ip.sp2 (if you used XP-sp2 as base when making BartPe). Note: You can use same ident-files to different system-folders (i386-folders).

Use run command in EasyBoot as usual: run bart.bin

Hmmmm…mistake from me. I noticed that you mentioned Ghost pe, not bartpe.

Tutorial for ghost pe. Do it this way:
Attention: this concerns only Ghost-10

1. Copy folder I386 from ghost-CD (or from ghost-ISO-file) to EasyBoot\disk1

2. Rename I386 to GHPE

3. Download hacked setupldr.bin from here= < http://www.encoremedias.com/MSFN/setupldr.bin >
Replace setupldr.bin in folder GHPE whit this hacked file.

4. Copy ident files (WIN51 and WIN51IA and finally WIN51IA.SP1) from root of ghost-pe-CD (or from inside of ISO-file) to EasyBoot\disk1

5. Copy w2ksect.bin to ezboot-folder (w2ksect.bin comes with EasyBoot. You find it originally in ezboot-
folder).

6. Rename w2ksect.bin to ghostpe.bin

Now to hex edit:
Step 1. Start EasyBoot >> Tools >> Replace Text… >> Find file >> ghostpe.bin in ezboot-folder
In “Text to find” you put in “I386” (no quotes) and in “Replace with” you put in “GHPE” (no quotes) push “Replace”.  Only one text string should be replaced if you have done right!
Attention: use uppercase (CAPS). Like GHPE not ghpe

Step 2. This is a little bit tricky.
Again use EasyBoot >> Tools >> Replace Text… >> Find file >> setupldr.bin in folder GHPE
In “Text to find” you put in “i386” (no quotes and note: i386 not I386) and in “Replace with” you put in “GHPE” (no quotes) push “Replace”. Five text strings should be replaced if you have done right!
Attention: use uppercase (CAPS). Like GHPE not ghpe

Step 3.  Again use EasyBoot >> Tools >> Replace Text… >> Find file >> setupldr.bin in folder GHPE
In “Text to find” you put in “I386” (no quotes and note this time you use: I386 not i386) and in “Replace with” you put in “GHPE” (no quotes) push “Replace”. Two text strings should be replaced if you have done right!
Attention: use uppercase (CAPS). ). Like GHPE not ghpe

Use run command in EasyBoot as usual: run ghostpe.bin

In this way you still have space for one originally i386-folder (in case you need to use originally folder name).

Which steps are required to get ERD Commander working in Bartpe? Or is it just the one that says "Tutorial for Bartpe"?

thanks

ERD Commander (please, note: ERD Commander version-2005).

Do it this way:

I followed your directions exactly for ERD05 but it has a problem with the network (it says to check winbom and I tried adding that file)  Also it can't find an installation until I logoff, and logon again.  Any ideas?

When making ISO, please test with using UltraIso instead of EasyBoot>>”Make ISO”

And read this, just in case: < http://forum.ezbsystems.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=1;t=1207 >

Hi Eureka,

I'm trying to make a boot dvd with the following options:

- BartPE
- Knoppix Live cd 5.1
- ERD Commander 2005
- Windows XP Home install cd
- Win98 image
- reboot

only ERD Commander wouldn't work.

I make an iso file with mkisofs.exe so BartPE and Linux work.
I use this command:
CODE

mkisofs.exe -iso-level 4 -volid "BartPE 3.0" -b loader.bin -J -R -joliet-long -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -o "C:\EasyBoot\iso\BPE4.iso" "C:\EasyBoot\BartPE 3.0 Alpha"

I get the NTLDR can not be found error.
When I try to make the iso with ultraiso, BartPE and Knoppix won't work.
Is there a way to get these programs working?

Hello morokat

Sorry for my delay  :;):
I really don’t have time for this but I’ll make an exception this time.
To make things easier - I have made an upload to rapidshare. It’s a zip-file containing files covering both ERD5 and BART.

Just replace your existing files with this hacked ones to directorys BART and ERD5. The same to files in Easyboot\disk1\ezboot (erd5.bin and bart.bin)

. You don’t need to do any hexedit, just replace and use files – enjoy…
In some cases (to erd5) you need a specially hacked setupldr.bin. And here you have one.

You find zip-file here:  http://XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Note: File is now permanently deleted from server.

I don’t now why you can’t hexedit using “Easyboot>>replace text”.
It shouldn’t be any problem hexedit bartPe (if using xp-sp2 as source).

Please note: I had to change my name to heureka as my old one “eureka” still is in database. I couldn’t registry with my old name (he, he in this computer times  :D ).

You don’t need to do any changes (including hexedit) to Server2003.  It’s fairly easy to make changes to winxp, erd5 and bartpe (new names to folders i386). This means that you have space for one original i386-folder in root (Esyboot\disk1).

Just put server2003 folder (i386) and necessary ident-files (Win51, Win51ia and/or Win51ia.sp1)  in easyboot\disk1. Take a new W2ksect.bin and rename this to 2003.bin. Use command as usual in easyboot; “run 2003” (no quotes of course).

To morokat

Start with an empty EzBoot\disk1 directory (except ezboot-folder of course). That means only make a test with server2003.

About server2003: Copy folder i386 from your Server2003-CD or ISO-file to EasyBoot\disk1 – the same to ident-files (Win51, Win51ia and if present Win51ia.sp1).
Use (or make a copy) of W2ksect.bin (originally already in EasyBoot\disk1\ezboot-folder). Rename W2ksect.bin to server.bin - or whatever - just to keep things separate from other start/boot-files.

Structure in EasyBoot should now look like something like this:

EasyBoot\disk1\i386  (i386-folder holding server-2003 setup-files. Size at least 550Mb or more)
EasyBoot\disk1\ Win51
EasyBoot\disk1\Win51ia
EasyBoot\disk1\Win51ia.sp1 (if present)
EasyBoot\disk1\ezboot\server.bin (and plenty of more files related to EasyBoot and other stuff)

Use command as usual in EasyBoot; “run server.bin” (no quotes of course).

Tip: Delete Bootfix.bin in folder i386 to avoid message: “Press any key to boot from CD”.

I do hope you use a “virtuell PC” of some kind instead of burning CD/DVD? This way it’s fairly easy and a smooth way to test things out.

Regards heureka

This way it’s fairly easy and a smooth way to test things out.

thank you ser

now i'm can to do its

Hello morokat!

Well ”karaoke-player” is not a part of my skills (or interests). However… I think this problem of yours, is related to some kind of advanced decoding – witch already is inside DVD-player (chip-related hardware or something). You probably need some kind of special software in your computer to over bridge this problem, and this is not related to EasyBoot in anyway.

Example on software: < http://www.filedudes.com/Easy_Karaoke_Player-download-18978.html >
Note. I’m not sure it works with your karaoke -DVD/CD. I can only recommend google for; PLAY KARAOKE IN PC
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------
Anyway, nice to se that you solved your initial problems related to EasyBoot>>Windows setup files.

To anyone who can help me....
Hi, i have ERD Commander 2008 with me and i tried to add it under ezboot. I have read you post about how to add ERD2005 in ezboot.. I followed the steps as you have written and when i ran the iso with MS- Virtual machine i always get this error message "NTLDR is corrupt. The system cannot boot". So can you please help me how to add erd commander 2008 in ezboot?

Posted by Guest on Aug. 22 2008,05:42
To ddralte08

I’m not sure what setupldr.bin that’s been used in erd 2008, but I guess it’s built using windows server edition of some kind.  There are corruption problem of SETUPLDR.BIN. Read here: < http://www.ezbsystems.com/cgi-bin....etupldr >

You probably cannot hex edit this file :(

To solve this problem of yours - I suggest you use Erd folder (i386) without renaming it.

Do it this way: Copy Erd folder (i386) to EasyBoot/disk1 (don’t forget identfiles win51 etcetera).
Make a copy of original w2ksect.bin (and rename this to erd8.bin or whatever) and put this file as usual in EasyBoot/disk1/ezboot.  Use command in EasyBoot as usual: run erd8.bin

If you wish to integrate some other i386-folder, well then you have to change name to this (or those), and doing necessary hex editing as usual.

Quote: “ I get the same with a PE boot disc” (BartPe???)…

Use run command in EasyBoot as usual: run bart.bin

to eureka

i have follow ur instruction to add ERD2005 but i got this error when i click on ERD2005 option on my easyboot CD

ERD5
CDBOOT: couldn't find NTLDR

would you please guide further in this
thanks

@looknguide

You can test following for BartPE:

1. Copy Folder i386 including programs folder and ident-files (Win51 etcetera) to EasyBoot\disk1
2. Rename folder i386 to a different 4-letters name like BART (note: use uppercase to letters = BIG LETTERS) and use command in menu:  bcdw /BART/setupldr.bin

Attention! This simple solution can only be used if BartPE-build is built using WinXP-sp2 as source. If using server 2003-sp1 as source for BartPE-build you end up with “couldn't find NTLDR”. But you can use solution for ERD5 below.
Note: If you can launch BartPE “the easy way” (bcdw /BART/setupldr.bin) then you can use folder i386 as it is from ERD5 (no need for hex editing).

Anyway, in case you still like to change name to folder i386 used in ERD5 use this solution:

As ERD5 is built using server 2003 as source, we need to do some special hex edit, read post nr.9 < HERE > how to solve hex edit problem for ERD5. As alternative, you can use my script “easyboot-live.script” to solve this problem.

To you and other users: unfortunately eureka is not active any longer

@ Balder

i have follow ur instruction but i got even no error now when i try to boot from ERD5 it direct start windows xp pro from my hard disk. i m using windows xp pro sp3.

now i decided to separate BartPE so i have removed bartpe from my easyboot and just try with ERD2005 it behave same load windows xp from my hard disk.

when i burn iso on CD and run that ERD2005 from CD it work fine but it not work in EasyBoot CD so there must be problem with setup in easyboot rather then ERD itself.

after facing to much complication i decided to may my easyboot CD easy and now it look like this.

[1] ERD 2005

[2] Acronis Disk Director 10

[3] Acronis True Image

[4] Hard Disk Boot

only ERD and Acronis DD doesn't work  and i m not worry about ADD because it has problem with my BIOS but it work on other computer, i tested it. So now I got problem with ERD 2005 only. I got ERD 2007 and 2009 is good to work with 2009 for XP?

sorry abt my English too if u dont understood something.

@looknguide

This must work for ERD5 or ERD7 :O :

1. Copy folder i386 and ident-files (win51 etcetera) from ERD5-ISO to EasyBoot\disk1
2. Use W2ksect.bin and set run command:  run W2ksect.bin
Make sure that W2ksect.bin is the original file (NOT hex edit in some way - or why not extract boot-file from your working ERD-CD and use that one in folder ezboot).
3. Very important! When creating ISO, DO NOT check: “Allow lower case”, DO NOT check: “DOS(8:3)”, DO NOT check: “Joliet”
It’s okay to check: “Hide Boot Folder” and check: “Hide All files in Boot Folder”.

Note: It should work even if you need to check “Joliet” (sometimes needed for some linux applications). But test without checking “Joliet” as this only is used in some odd linux applications.

BartPE works with the “bcdw”-command – but only if BartPE is build using WinXP-sp2 as source. It doesn’t work if BartPE is built using server-2003-sp1 as source (ERD is normally built using server 2003 as source).

@ Balder

its work and i made my master CD, Thank you very much for you guideline on this. its increases my knowledge to make boot CD too.

now some experiment further, i wanted to add dam small linux on this easyboot cd with ERD commandr and acronis, i also want ERD commander for XP64 and visa 32 and 64. so it become look like this,

[1] ERD Commander 2005 (XP 64)

[2] ERD Commander 2009 (Vista 32)

[3] ERD Commander 2009 (Vista 64)

[4] Damm Small Linux

hopping this is right format of CD or DVD

AND IF WANT THIS WAY

[1] ERD 2005

[2] Dam Small Linux

[3] Acronis Disk Director 10

[4] Acronis True Image

[5] Hard Disk Boot

Because Linux boot CD is important when make boot CD or DVD. i was thinking about if possible to put KNOPPIX there is not more space on CD but I can put this on DVD.

sorry again this big note, hopping you dont mind abt.

@looknguide

I have never heard about ERD Commander 2005 (XP 64) ???  – or do you suggest that there are two versions of ERD5? One for 32-bit and one for 64-bit? Anyway, It doesn’t matter – because to my knowledge, ERD5 is built using server-2003 – with a Setupldr.bin-file that gets corrupted when you hex edit (you must patch setupldr.bin before hex edit. Read < HERE >).

In case you still want to hex edit ERD5 (change name to folder i386) please read post nr: 9 < HERE > how this is done (same for ERD7).
Another solution is to use my script “EasyBoot-Live.script”. This script does everything fully automatically for you (including patching and hex edit files). Script support ERD5 and ERD7 as well, without problems.

ERD Commander 2009 (Vista 32). This must be ”MsDart-32” that is built using Vista32 as source – correct?
ERD Commander 2009 (Vista 64). This must be ”MsDart-64” that is built using Vista64 as source – correct?

To solve ERD Commander 2009 (Vista-based) I recommend using my script “Easyboot-ISO.script”. This script does everything for you. Script launch ISO-file as it is and gives you in the end what command to use in your menu in EasyBoot.
Note: If using “Easyboot-ISO.script”, check “Allow Lower Case” when creating ISO-file.
------------------------------------------------------------------
About Dam Small Linux
I downloaded ISO for test purpose from < HERE >

Do as following:
1. Extract folder knoppix from DSL-ISO to Easyboot\disk1
2. Delete folder knoppix inside DSL.ISO (we don’t need this folder there as it is extracted to disk1). I use UltraIso when doing this operation. Save reduced ISO-file as DSL.ISO to a temporary folder somewhere.
3. Use my script “Easyboot-ISO.script” to integrate DSL.iso to EasyBoot.
4. When script is finished you automatically get the right command for your menu.
5. When creating ISO in EasyBoot check “Allow Lower Case” and also check “Joliet”.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
For Acronis Disk Director 10 and Acronis True Image use this method:
1. Create “rescue ISO-file” using Acronis “Bootable Rescue Media Builder” (you have this option in Acronis)
2. Put created ISO in folder ezboot
3. Use menu command in EasyBoot:  bcdw /ezboot/restore.iso
Note: you may need to adjust file name “restore.iso “ to the one you get when creating ISO file or rename by your self ISO to a different name and change command in menu accordingly.

Attention :O  As my script is used for solutions above, I recommend you to run this script in WinXP, as this is a more “free system” – without all stupid security latches that Vista/Win-7 is overcrowded with

@india

As this seems to be your first post in this forum I say welcome :)

Quote: “Error”

This can be solved in several different ways :;):
Let’s start with the easy one:

If you used WinXP (any servicepack) as source for build of BartPE you can simply copy folder i386 and programs-folder and ident-files (win51 etcetera) to folder disk1 in easyboot and then rename folder i386 to let’s say “BART” (use CAPS to name= BIG LETTERS) and use menu command in easyboot: bcdw /bart/setupldr.bin (as you can notice in this scenario, no hex edit necessary)

You can now use another folder i386 on the root of EasyBoot (root of EasyBoot is disk1 if you wonder).

However - If you used server-2003-sp1 or similar to build BartPE, I instead recommend you to use my collections of scripts.
Download my scripts below this post: “Download complete set of scripts including help file HERE” Read help file “READ_ME.html”.

Use easyboot-iso.script to integrate “WINKEY.iso” to EasyBoot.
Note: check “Run ISO from RAM” in script as this is an NT5-system that are build from folder i386.

As WINKEY now is directly launched from ISO you can have folder i386 from BartPE on the root (disk1) and you don’t need to hex edit at all
