Hello sam, if you are making a multiboot windows NT/2000/XP/2003 CD/DVD, please refer to < http://forum.ezbsystems.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=1;t=160 > .

Otherwise, please provide more detailed information about the contents of your bootable disc.

Dear xoben, I want to and Acronis TrueImage 8.0 and TrueImage 8.0 Corporate Workstation. Both have one folder named "Recovery Manager". But when I checked the BIF file using HEX editor to rename "Recovery Manager", I found only the word "Recovery" not the "Recovery Manager".

Inside the folder, some files also contain the name "Recovery".

Please Help me

Recommanded for version 5.08 and above:
1) Put your xxx.ISO image in c:\easyboot\disk1\ezboot
2) Use 'bcdw /ezboot/xxx.iso' to load it
Note1: Only DOS/Int13 based systems may be loaded by BCDW, not work with ISO images of Windows NT/2000/XP/2003, Windows PE or Linux Live CDs.
Note2: If the following error message comes:
>Error: Unexpected exiting
>Press any key to boot from the hard disk or Escape to reboot...
It means that bcdw cannot load the ISO properly.
Please try: < another way >.

For Acronis products, you can load it by BCDW 2.0:
1) Download a simplified version BCDW 2.0 from < http://dw.ezbsys.net/bcdw20.zip >
2) Create a new directory at c:\easyboot\disk1, name it as bcdw
3) Open bcdw20.zip, extract bcdw.bin and bcdw.ini to c:\easyboot\disk1\bcdw; extract bcdwldr.bin to c:\easyboot\disk1\ezboot
4) Make an ISO image from bootable CD-ROM by UltraISO, save it to c:\easyboot\disk1\bcdw\mycd.iso
5) Use 'run bcdwldr.bin' to load this ISO

Instructions for adding a secondary ISO entry:
1) Create a new directory BCD1 (exactly 4 characters length) under disk1
2) Extract bcdw.bin and bcdw.ini to this folder, put your ISO image there and modify bcdw.ini as needed
;========================
\BCD1\MYCD1.ISO

[Options]
RootMenu=\BCD1\BCDW.INI
;========================
3) Copy "disk1\ezboot\bcdwldr.bin" to "disk1\ezboot\bcdwldr1.bin"
4) Click 'Tools'->'Replace Text' to replace '\bcdw\' to '\bcd1\' in file "disk1\ezboot\bcdwldr1.bin" (there should be only one occurrence)
5) Use 'run bcdwldr1.bin' to mount

Dear xoben,
BCDW 2.0 works for Acronis products .ISO images. Thank you again. But When I tried to add UBCD for Windows (UBCDW) .ISO image, it didn't work. It says mising ntdlr file or somthing.

(1) Why does it work for some .iso files and does not for some other .iso files ?

(2) Is there any different way to overcome this problem ?

Please help me.

Thank You

Okay I tried these instructions to put 2 different bootable Linux's on one CD (puppy and DSL). I get a kernal image cannot be found error. Any idea what I am doing wrong. I think both use ISOlinux.

Thanks

Dear Xoben,

I had a question which I cannot get any correct answer from anywhere will you please tell

Do you how to add more data to a bootable iso image with not making the ISO currupt, but still making the CD bootable.

I had a bootable 160mb ISO to which i want to add more data to 650 and to burn it on a CD but want the CD bootable.

Is it possible with NERO

Please reply

Thanks in advance :)  :D

You can do it with an ISO file editing / creating program such as UltraISO for example :
open the file, and the add new one either by drag-and-drop or via the menu, then save it ( best is to save as new file, rather then save, so in case something goes wrong original file is not corrupted !)

If you don't mind me suggesting, Just create bif files from the Acronis images you want to use and then use Easyboot to load them.

I am running three different Acronis program files without any issues.

'bootinfotable; run xxxx.bif' would be your run line.

Replace xxxx with bif file name and you will be set.

I found a little diffirent solution for acronis recovery iso image

Disk director 10 and true image 9.1 server versions boths are installed.Media builder can make one recovery iso image with multi boot.True image full and safe version and Disk director full and safe version.Build one and rename "acro.iso"

I've made one folder for easyboot.name is "boot"
I had downloaded and extracted "bcdw20.zip" file to any folder.Hex editing "bcdw.bin"- "bcdwldr.bin",changing lines "bcdw" to "boot".And editing bdcw.ini like that;

\BOOT\acro.iso

[Options]
RootMenu=\BOOT\ACRO.INI

than

Rename  bcdw.ini --> acro.ini
bcdw.bin --> acro.bin
bcdwldr.bin --> acroldr.bin

Copy all files and "acro.iso" to boot folder.iso.Its already contained easyboot files.
Make iso and test. Its working for me without any errors.Except Acronis Startup Recovery Manager.True image can't find "Recovery Manager" folder.I don't know why?

I want to create bootable USB Flash from DVD/ISO with UBCD4Win, Hiren's Boot CD and many others. I suppose it is not possible because it uses "no emulation mode" is there any easier way than to use GrubUtil (http://www.ezbsystems.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=1;t=2480) ? BTW do you have any experience with adding Paragon Drive Backup to Easy Boot project?
Posted by balder on Oct. 23 2008,11:57
Hello it.center.eu

You have several options to start acronis products.
The easy way: Start “Bootable Rescue Media Builder” and create ISO file. Copy this to USB device\ ISO folder. Read here about different grub commands: < http://www.ezbsystems.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=1;t=2480 > (credits to heureka). Command in your case is this:

timeout 0

    root (hd0,0)
    find --set-root --ignore-floppies /iso/acronis.iso
    map /iso/acronis.iso (hd32)
    map --hook
    chainloader (hd32)
    boot

or loading to memory (run gzip to ISO to speed up loading)

timeout 0

    root (hd0,0)
    find --set-root --ignore-floppies /iso/acronis.iso.gz
    map --mem /iso/acronis.iso.gz (hd32)
    map --hook
    chainloader (hd32)
    boot

Another alternative here: this is used in internal easyboot.iso in my script, download here: < http://www.ezbsystems.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=1;t=2576 >

If using floppy image method you need to practice this:

1) Start Acronis Media Builder and insert your first empty floppy. Let the media builder finish the first diskette and copy the files from the floppy drive to a temporary folder named SOURCE. The thing you will notice is that Windows still have those files in memory so there is no actual reading of the floppy! Ultra reliable and fast!
2) Do the same for the rest of the floppy required for your Acronis product.
3) Use EasyBoot to create a floppy image of the FIRST diskette
4) Use EasyBoot to create a floppy image to the size required by the number of diskettes and use the floppy image you created at step 3 as the SEED image.
5) Open this new oversized floppy image (empty) with WinImage
6) use the INJECT option and add all the files from the SOURCE folder
7) save
8) Now you can run this .IMG with EasyBoot using the following command: RUN XXX.IMG

that's it! No more tampering with diskettes.

Credits to Incroyable HULK or read here: < http://www.ezbsystems.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=1;t=473 >

The future is already here!

Best wishes from balder

Needing help with creating multiboot DVD with Iso images. I have attempted to follow previous guides but always seem to receive ntldr errors and additional ones that I cannot remember. My aim is to create a windows 2000-Vista AIO DVD with Hiren's BootCD & ERD Command 2005.

-------------------------------------------
Versions of Windows:

Windows 2000 Pro
Windows 2000 Server
Windows 2000 Adv Server (win2kall.iso, 2k.bif)

Windows XP Home 32 bit (XPH32.iso, XPH32.bif)
Windows XP Pro 32 bit (XPP32.iso, XPP32.bif)
Windows XP Pro 64 bit (XPP64.iso, XPP64.bif)

Windows Vista AIO (vista.iso, vista.bif)

Hirens BootCD 9.4 (HBCD.iso, HBCD.bif)

ERD Command 2005 (ERDCMD2005.iso, ERDCMD2005.bif)

--------------------------------------

Currently I have created 2 menu's:

and

Questions:
1. How would I go about setting up the file directories with these ISO files with the current  menu's etc?

2. What would be the run commands for these menu's?

3. The version of Windows 2000 Iso file I am currently using already has a Dos multi menu option to select between different versions. Will this break the process?

4. Will the difference of 32/64 bit boot cd's cause additional multiboot errors?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Trying to combine several diagnostics tools into one disk, most of them are img files no problem, keep stumbling on a chkdsk tool written in pe3.0. Have an ISO. Tried to put the iso in the ezboot directory, just boots to a black screen. Tried the method using ultraiso to extract to ezboot directory and then save boot file .bif and write run chkdsk.bif and adding bootinfotable;chkdsk.bif keeps giving error "BootCD: Couldn't find BOOTMGR"

Need help..... ???

As this seems to be your first post in this forum – I say welcome :)

Quote: “keep stumbling on a chkdsk tool written in pe3.0”

As far as I know this ISO is build from NT6-system (most likely using server-2008) ???
I recommend you to test my script “easyboot-iso.script” to launch ISO-file as it is (no need to extract anything).
You find collection of script below in every post I replay :;):

Note1: do not have space in name for original ISO-file or space in folder where ISO-file is kept. Work from the root (C:\)
Note2: you do not need to check “Run ISO from RAM” as this is a ISO based on a NT6-system.

Ok Balder, downloaded your mod of winbuilder. Tried to run your script on my ISO. kept getting error:

ShellExecute: [Open] using: [%BaseDir%\Temp\newimage\bfi.exe] with parameters: [ -v -b=%BaseDir%\Temp\newimage\grubmbr -t=6 -f=%BaseDir%\Temp\newimage\chkdsk.img %BaseDir%\Temp\newimage\menu]
FileCopy - Failed to copy [%BaseDir%\Temp\newimage\chkdsk.img] to: [C:\EasyBoot\disk1\ezboot]
Halt

thought it my be a windows 7 issue. Fired up my xp VM. copied across everything. installed easyboot and tried your script again. exact same error.

thought it my be something wrong with my iso so I loaded it up in Virtualbox. Booted fine.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Help please... :O

@ajblandford

I’m a little bit confused here ???  - as you get this in the log:
“Failed to copy [%BaseDir%\Temp\newimage\chkdsk.img] to: [C:\EasyBoot\disk1\ezboot]”

To clear things out a little bit…
Take a look into folder winbuilder_complete\temp
Inside folder “newimage” you should have a bunch of files including these two files: “bfi.exe” and “chkdsk.img”
Do you have these two files inside folder “newimage”?

Note: I noticed that you use the name “chkdsk” to ISO-file – if you change name to ISO-file in script text-box, you of course get a different name to “chkdsk.img” inside folder “newimage”.

balder

Posted by ajblandford on Aug. 16 2010,07:45
Nope, changed descriptor to ISO-file and ran again.  Looked in newimage directory under temp, has folder named menu, 8 files one named bfi.exe, no img file. Tried it in XP VM, same thing. Not sure what's wrong. Just to make sure it's not a permission issue, I changed the permissions of The Balder directory granting full access to everyone, no difference, img file is either not created or it gets deleted when the script terminates.
error:
FileCopy - Failed to copy [%BaseDir%\Temp\newimage\ISO-file.img] to: [C:\EasyBoot\disk1\ezboot]

Did notice it makes an ISO directory under easyboot\disk1 and copies original chkdsk.iso and makes ISO-file.iso. no img file

Maybe it just doesn't like my ISO.

from what I understand of PE 3.0 it's supposed to be based on windows 7. Have there been any other issues with win7 and your script?

Sorry to be such a bother on my first issue on the forum

Adam

@ajblandford

Quote: “Sorry to be such a bother on my first issue on the forum”
This is you right to complain Adam – as I’m offering you a “shortcut” to a solution for free

The problem consists of that floppy image-file is not created by “bfi.exe”
And as no image file is created script fail to copy image-file to folder ezboot :O

Done some tests…
I copied folder winbuilder_complete to the desktop of my system and run script from there – and I at once got: “failed to copy image……” :O

Important: Make sure to copy (move) folder WinBuilder_complete to the root of your system – that will say C:\

By the way – please use CAPS to name in text box like this:  ISO-FILE or CHKDSK or whatever name you use.

Note: I have downloaded script and tested to make sure nothing went wrong when uploading (you never now) – but script works fine on both my WinXP_sp3 and on my Win7 systems.
Done some ”cosmetic” changes to script (messages in script updated)

Quote: “from what I understand of PE 3.0 it's supposed to be based on windows 7”
Yes this could be the case – most likely ISO is built using some kind of NT6-system Win7 or server-2008 as source.
The nice thing is that script can launch these kind of ISO-files as the are with a “breeze”
That will say - when script works okay in your computer :;):

Has anyone integrated, "Paragon's Rescue Kit" iso with EZBoot? I'm unable to get this iso to work via EZBoot, and so far most posts here have not been able to help resolve the problem.

Any suggesstions?

The second ISO I want to attempt to add to my EZBoot custom cd is the, "Avast Bart CD".

I appreciate any assistance that can be offered.

Well Megabytecoffee – I have easily integrated both ISO-files and tested – works fine :D

Download my set of scripts (you find it below in every post I replay)
Please read “READ_ME.html before start to using script.

You target is easyboot-iso.script
Do not use spaces in name to ISO-file and no space in folder name where you keep your ISO-file(s). Put ISO-files in a folder on the root (C:\)

Do it this way for paragon:
1. When you have “activated easyboot-iso.script” put in a name in textbox in script for name to ISO – for example PARAGONRESCUE (use CAPS to name and CAPS means BIG LETTERS).
2. Check that path to your installation of EasyBoot is the correct in script (in normal case C:\easyboot)
3. Push Start-button and point (scroll) to paragon.ISO
4. In the end you get a text-message with right menu command to use in EasyBoot menu
That’s it :;):

Do it this way for avast__BART_CD_2009.rar:
1. When you have “activated easyboot-iso.script” put in a name in textbox in script for name to ISO – for example AVASTBART (use CAPS to name and CAPS means BIG LETTERS).
2. Check that path to your installation of EasyBoot is the correct in script (in normal case C:\easyboot)
3. In this case also check “RunISO from RAM” as this ISO is built using NT5-system as source (folder i386)
4. Push Start-button and point (scroll) to avastbart.ISO
5. In the end you get a text-message with right menu command to use in EasyBoot menu
That’s it :;):

Balder,
I appreciate the support. That made it work.

The Avast Bart disc image does take a lot longer to load, is there any tweaks that may get the image to load a little more closely to the direct cd? I am expecting lag due to decompression of an image, but this one seems much greater than I would have thought.

Thanks in adavance!

That sounds like “music” in my ears

Quote: “is there any tweaks that may get the image to load a little more closely to the direct cd?”

Sure there is :;):

Do it this way (the simple “old” way)
1. Extract everything from avastbartpe.iso to folder disk1 in Easyboot
2. Create menu in EasyBoot and use menu command:  run W2ksect.bin   Note: check that you have file W2ksect.bin in folder ezboot – it should be there
3. This way files and folder names are case sensitive and also sensitive to total length in path. This means that when creating ISO in EasyBoot, do not check “DOS(8:3)” or “Joliet” or “Allow lower case”  - leave these unchecked
Build is now working as a “normal” ISO.
Note: in this case you must continue to have CD/DVD in reader-unit.

In case you want a setup folder i386 as well in your build (you can obviously only have one folder i386 in folder disk1). If this is the case you must change name to folder i386.
Let’s start with the: ”take a chance-method”
Note: this "bcdw"-method can only be used to builds that use WinXP as source. If server-2003 is used as source to build, you cannot use this simple method
Test this:
1. Extract everything from avastbartpe.iso to folder disk1 in Easyboot
2. Rename folder i386 to – let’s say: AVAB (note: use CAPS to letters)
3. Create menu in EasyBoot and use menu command: bcdw /avab/setupldr.bin

Or the “fancy way” use my script easyboot-live.script
OPTIONAL to above - change name to folder i386 in case you want a setup folder i386 as well in your build (you can obviously only have one folder i386 in folder disk1 :O )
1. Create a folder avastbartpe on the root (C:\)
2. Extract everything from avastbartpe.iso to folder avastbartpe
3. Use my script easyboot-live.script
4. Script gives you a recommended menu command: ***.bin  (where *** is replaced with what you set for new  name to folder i386 in textbox in script)
5. When creating ISO in EasyBoot, do not check “DOS(8:3)” or “Joliet” or “Allow lower case” – leave this unchecked. Note: in this case you must continue to have CD/DVD in reader-unit.

Note: You can as option to both examples above, most likely delete folder “DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS” and file Winbom.ini
