:D
Who all feels that these are of any importance...
1. BIOS check and Divert
2. Password Box GUI based
3. Status Bar (onMouseOver show status at top/bottom) OR ToolTip
4. Custom Folder Name to keep Boot Data (.IMG, .BIN, .BIF)
5. Some Fade effects (XP boot like)
6. FAT/FAT16/FAT32 Basic Access through Console
7. SDKz for Plug-Ins makers! (more commands)
8. Menu Style? Bill Gates begun rocking Windows after using this one ;)
9. Basic System Information?

Imagination is what creates reality
I still remember how I got excited when I first heard about EZboot on NET! I knew that this little peace of work would get popular day by day as Storage CRUSHES its limits!

Hi Oxtie,

I think EasyBoot should be a CD miltiboot manager, not a diagnosis or recovery tool itself. Do you think so?

EZB if nearly perfect...

but more likable if booting was extended to Iso Image created on dir BOOT... (es. support DVD, sure...)
:)
if possible??? or Utopia? :)

\
boot\win98.iso
boot\winxp.iso
boot\nav2004.iso
boot\floppy.img

....
....

making virtual unit through (A:, B:, Z:) from ISO directly... or created with external .EXE program.... a species daemon tools for DOS or VirtualPC enviroment for installation from ISO bootable from dir DVD:)
u imagine command type:

mount A: winxp.iso
a redirect INT BIOS boot emulation of iso file as virtual unit, ready for installation....

one DVD... many iso BOOTABLES... :)  happen heaven :)

what u say about it?
i'm crazy... i so ;)

I always thought EZB Cds are made usually for Recoveries, Installations and DeBugging...! I believed that EZB CDs are Best set of "All-In-One"s.

I had an incident few days back. I created a CD made by EZB specially for my PC but then I noticed that some things such as BartPE and other things can also be used on Other PCs! So, BIOS Detection came in my head... (why give other computer options that they can't process)

About rest, I agress that its crap... But they are all just suggessions which you can ignore! :D

I think Layout Menu should be removed as EZBoot now supports 8 bit bmp files as background! (256 Colours)
I created everything on Photoshop, at the end, converted it to 256 colours bmp image and its great! Layout first came when there was 16 colours support but now, I feel its obsolete :)

Improvement suggession:
1. Faster Mouse Refresh Rate :)
2. OnMouseOut Menu=Transparent OnMouseOver Menu=%Colours or .BMP%
3. "TEST Mode" under Windows Preview! (Tired of testing on Virtual PCs!)
4. Mouse based Drag & Drop support for Progress Bar, Counter etc Misc items...
5. Number of colours available = Number of Colours avilable on BMP's Background Pallette!

Martinx, is it possible to Virtually change Floppy Images while we are on the boot??? Would be a great help! You already made it possible to Insert and Remove Images in the Command Prompt... You can use the same way to Insert and Eject Images :p

im making a diagnostics/recovery cd with many tools in it and many sub menus the tools included are NTFS password and registry editor (extremely hard to find) BootIt NG partition manager and boot loader, a few versions of FDISK, bootable command line OSes (linux/unix and DOS with ntfs,cd rom and network support) norton ghost, and IBIOS (basically a bios backup and cracking toolbox) this was extremely hard to compile together and took alot of time i will sell it to people on here for $10 for the zipped contents of the boot menu(only for people who have highspeed connections) or $15 for the contents on a cd. email me or pm me if you want one.

It would be nice to see a CD Boot Manager to be a Default Hard Disk Boot manager! PowerQuest's BootMagic sucks if if I compare this cool program! :;): (Again, even big companies lack talent)

I feel that EZBoot should be able to boot to other Hardware devices... Not only to HardDisk (Boot 80) and Floppy Disk (Boot 0) ;)

Such Hardwares can be,
1. Zip Drives,
2. USB Sticks!
3. IBM Micro Drives

FurtherMore, EZBoot can Boot Partitions on Disk or another Disk itself (if a guy has two HDDs):p  Now this is just a crazy thought that can be ignored if felt nonsense by all dudes :D
Posted by Oxtie on Jan. 18 2004,08:35
I've lately seen plenty of request of booting an ISO directly :D If you all dudes are going for that one then do make the *.ISO Virtually Changeable under DOS   (UseISo.com ; Usexxx) LOL  :D

Since you made it possible to change Eject and Remove images through external DOS files, won't it be possible to EXIT an emulated image by using similear external files again?? I think this a cool one if you decide for version 5 :D

Yup! and don't forget the Changing *.IMG

This should be somthing like this:
EZBOOT.EXE (DOS File)
/s = Status
/C = Change Image (without WarmBoot)
/I = Inject Image
/X = Warm Boot :) !

example: wboot.exe /c Win98.IMG
example: wboot.exe /x (to just warm boot)
example: wboot.exe /x abc.EZB (to warm boot and boot to abc)
example: wboot.exe /x abc.IMG or IMA or BIN etc etc :D

:)  Wouldn't call this really a bad idea...

Yo Martin dude! Can ye make it possible to make any folder as %BootDir%?? I like to change the name "ezboot" (folder) if its possible :D {Don't really like hacking around files ??? )

??? Have a feeling that my suggessions are being ignored  :( Anyways I hope it is being read  ??? Anyways here you go for another one:

As I've seen 256 Background BitMap support in action, I like the 256 colours (in *.bmp pallette) useful to other features of EZBoot! For example all text can use all available colours of pallette, A progress bar can have more colours from BMP's pallette to make to look more like a gradient or XP like progress bar! I'm sure plenty of things can be possible if these colours are available to all features of EZB!

I will be off for a while :(

Since EasyBoot can creates larger floppy images, UltraISO should be able to add directory's to the image.  Currently it can only files to the root.

I would hope that this feature would be added in UltraISO 6.56

release EZBoot in arabic version
Posted by Oxtie on Feb. 15 2004,12:18
Why not make Real Floppy disk access to "B" drive from diskemu itself? I'm sure more people will be happy with that.

If messing with DiskEmu is hard then lets make an external EXE or COM file that can make B: as real floppy disk access drive. This procedure can be done through Config.sys OR Autoexec.bat files. As I've seen in plenty of posts, This should be the answer to their problems :D

This solution is more like "FShare.exe" in Connectix/MS Virtual PC.

We appreciate your suggustions.

Xoben,

I hope you will appreciate this one allso:

In my opninion EasyBoot is a great program, and worth every dollar. BUT... that helpfile.. it is *really* bad. Badly written, not userfriendly, not complete, far to few well explained examples.

Did some Googeling on EasyBoot to read reviews, and I am certainly not the only one with this vision. Many times I read the same: "Nice program, awfull Helpfile" and as a result rather timeconsuming to learn in depth.

I should not be too much trouble to revise that helpfile for the next release I think, and the program could benefit from it a lot.

Some technical suggestions:

Mouse support is not very good with modern IR mouses, very flaky and moving far too fast, so that could have some new paint. Allso an option to disable mouse support in the menu could be a good idea.

My five cents,
Michel

Hi anyone,

I have 3 suggestions :

1/ How to Boot with Ezboot from Usb Key Or External Hard Disk
2/ How to Boot with Ezboot and point to several "WinPE" (.img)
3/ How to Boot with Ezboot and point to several "Linux" (.img)

Thanks !!!

A think a more detailed information in easyboot.hlp is necessary:
more specific cases, howtos, guides to use with knoppix, acronis, linux;
information about the command "bootinfotable".

In addition to this, more mouse refresh rate.

And a grid line to make the GUI, the menu boxes, buttons, etc.

Solaris 10 x86 Support
More than 1 Linux distribution support

Agree on the help file; it's terrible.  The software is worth every penny, but the help file is junk :(

Some suggestions:

Better support for importing menu graphics (ie, the ability to BROWSE for it?  Have the program copy to where it needs to go?)

Much better explanation of SubMenus/easier ability to create them for those with multideep menus (especially true of Nin1 DVD bootables)

It has been my experience that visual tutorials (flash based) are always welcome by the community. I find them to be a great resource, espceially with software that involves many steps to accomplish something.

Wink anyone? < http://www.debugmode.com/wink >

Have a good one.
