Ok I used CDRWIN to be able to extract the tracking information (BIN, CUE) to see what was going on.

So here is what it shows in the CUE file.

FILE "G:\STONKEEP.BIN" BINARY
 TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
   INDEX 01 00:00:00
 TRACK 02 AUDIO
   PREGAP 00:02:00
   INDEX 01 61:07:50
 TRACK 03 AUDIO
   INDEX 00 64:17:73
   INDEX 01 64:19:73

At least UltraISO Can read it but when I try to convert using UltraISO it says.

"Prompt: Multi-track information may be lost if using standard ISO format, continue anyway?"

So I try this. And then burn the program using the latest version of Nero. ok.. good so far.

Seems to work... I just don't get why I get this Multitrack CD error message trying to make an ISO from the CD (preventing me from even making an ISO) and then trying to make an ISO from a BIN/CUE image (Allowing me but warned)..  kinda annoying.

Update: Running the CD in WINAMP

The Audio Tracks are missing. At least they aren't "necessary" for the game to play (since the ingame audio doesn't depend on the audio tracks) but they are lost from the original CD. This must be a result of this Multi-track error/warning (depending on how you do it.)

I don't remember having a problem with this before but it's happening and I'm getting errors in the latest version of UltraISO 7.2 ME from the website.
Posted by Ieremiou on Jun. 12 2004,21:33
OK, I see what the "problem" is a Multitrack CD being one with a data track and multiple audio tracks. UltraISO doesn't support this. Stonekeep only has.. 2 audio tracks as you see above.

Tested on a CD I knew that has multiple audio tracks as well. The cd is Stargunner CD. Same warning pops up. This is the apparent problem. Stargunner has like 41 Audio tracks.

That's the problem.

So basically an ISO loses all Audio tracks if used in UltraISO?

Thanks for your detailed information.

Yes, version 7.2 can not make images from Mixed-mode CDs. This feature will be added soon at version 7.21.

Iso standard doesn't support creating multitrack images.
It's Because the image file contains "cooked" 2048-byte sectors and nothing else, it isn't possible to store anything but a single data track this way. Audio tracks, mixed-mode discs, CD+G, multisession, and other fancy formats can't be re-created. That's why most burning programs have their own image format:to store additional data that an iso can't handle.

Ah that makes sense now. Thanks for the update though :). Maybe the warning shoulda been changed and then I wouldn't have had so much problems but now that I did something may happen.

Thanks for the info as well Benvl.

Hello Ieremiou, please check your PM for pre-released version 7.21, which has included the feature you wanted.
Posted by Ieremiou on Jun. 16 2004,23:15
I didn't seem to get the PM... maybe try again? sorry for the slightly late post...

Make sure you send it to "Ieremiou" (emphasis on the capitalized "I")

I notice when I log in.. "Ieremiou" and "ieremiou" are recognized differently.. "ieremiou" isn't recognized as my name.

Done. Please check your messager.
Posted by Ieremiou on Jun. 17 2004,07:32
Okay, I got it...
Works great.. I like the ability to make Bin/Cues, CloneCD images and NRGs now. :)
Very nice. Thanks a bunch xoben.

By the way, on a whim I tried to burn the BIN/CUE made by UltraISO on to a cd but the engine says it can't analyze the cd to do a track-at-once but NERO BURNING ROM (Which I have anyways) was able to burn it with no hitch. Maybe a bug? Not sure.

I'll give a more detail error message if you need to because I gotta go now.

Hello Ieremiou, please grab NeroBurn 1.0.1.30 and try it out again.

PS: NeroAPI may not recognize the media type correctly ('Disc analysis failed').

Sorry bro, no go still, same errors. Keep trying... We're all praying for ya. (at least I am)
Posted by xoben on Jun. 18 2004,09:28
Sorry, I cannot reproduce this problem on our recorders.

There are two more version here:
1) a special version 1.0.1.30 which prints all logs available
2) and the previous 1.0.0.26 (with V7.2)

Can you help us to do more testing ?

Thanks for your time.

Hello Ieremiou,

Thanks a lot.

This is the problem:
Reading of disc information failed.
(Medium in drive: CD-R. Medium required by compilation: CD-R/RW.)

Please re-donwload 1.0.1.30 and test it this way:

1) Do not check 'DVD disc', burn your image
2) Check 'DVD disc', do as step 1

PS: 'DVD disc' is used for swicthing parameter only

Best Regards

Using UltraISO 7.2.1.812 and NeroBurn 1.0.1.30

Okay, I've discovered the problem... There was something that kept bothering me while I was trying the different NeroBurn programs...
The problem is the CUE file made by UltraISO 7.2.1.812... It's messed up...
Okay, I had CDRWin 3.9F (there is 3.9G out now but I don't have yet at this moment) and had it make BIN/CUE files of Stonekeep.

Here is the CUE file text made by CRDWIN 3.9F.
Also the BIN made by CDRWIN 3.9F is 690,890,592 bytes according to Windows XP.

FILE "G:\STONKEEP2.BIN" BINARY
 TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
   INDEX 01 00:00:00
 TRACK 02 AUDIO
   PREGAP 00:02:00
   INDEX 01 61:07:50
 TRACK 03 AUDIO
   INDEX 00 64:17:73
   INDEX 01 64:19:73

Using this BIN/CUE made by CDRWIN Worked in NeroBurn.
It passed all checks and stuff... I aborted the burn but it was just about to start burning to the CD.

-----

Here is the CUE file text made by UltraISO 7.2.1.812.
Also the BIN made by UltraISO 7.2.1.812 is 691,243,392 bytes according to Windows XP.

FILE "STONKEEP.BIN" BINARY
REM SESSION 01
 TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
   INDEX 01 00:00:00
 TRACK 02 AUDIO
   INDEX 01 61:09:50
 TRACK 03 AUDIO
   INDEX 01 64:21:73

UltraISO was unable to burn this CUE file... Now for what reason.. I'm not quite sure...
But it appears to be related to the CUE file... from what I see.

It is related to the CUE File.  You see there is a "PREGAP" in CDRWIN's CUE File.
I associated the CDRWIN's CUE File to the BIN UltraISO made.. It works! But if I remove the PREGAP instances (making it like ULTRAISO's CUE file then it fails... The INDEX of the AUDIO files don't seem to matter but they must follow a PREGAP instance... that's what I see... is this Odd? I think so.. since NeroBurning ROM is able to burn the BIN/CUE made by UltraISO but NeroBurn can not..  ??? I hope THIS fixes it.

Here is an intersting tidbit I read in the Online Help file for CDRWIN 3.9F which refers to Writing a Cue Sheet and then Common Problems.. It is kinda related...

PREGAPS GREATER THAN 3 SECONDS LONG - Some recorders will refuse to record a disc with any pregaps that exceed three seconds in length. On the first track, you automatically get a pregap of two seconds, which is required by the CDROM spec. Unless you are doing something very unusual, you should never need to extend the pregap of the first track (i.e. don't use the PREGAP command on the first track).

CDRWIN automatically puts in PREGAPs for audio tracks only... I think NeroBurn is expecting these PREGAPs which I don't think are necessary. It's a safety precaution by CDRWIN from what I understand from the Help file text.

*Removed since bug has been fixed and is not needed anymore*

You are right ... when I try BIN/CUE format, NeroBurn failed this time.

Possible problem:
NeroAPI uses 'Track-At-Once' writing mode, the BIN/CUE but images created by UI is using Disc-At-Once mode, which do not care PREGAP and Index information.

Posted by Ieremiou on Jun. 18 2004,22:22
Funny eh? I thought so too... NeroBurning Rom on the other hand has no problems with BIN/CUEs not using PREGAP in the AUDIO tracks. I hope this is the fix to the problem cause.. uh I'm running out of places to check :p.

PS... Why is there a REM SESSION 01 in the CUE?
This seems kinda unnecessary. Being a child of MS-DOS, I know what REM does basically saying Ignore this line. I don't think I ever was told what it actually meant or stood for. I just knew what it did. :D...

This is an extention to CUE sheet for saving multi-session images. It is supported by ISOBuster as well.

NeroAPI is different from Nero Burning ROM ... we will try to fix this bug before the final version.

Thank you so much! and Have a nice weekend.

Interesting... So um... how do we fix this without adding pregaps because frankly I don't like pregaps... unless I want to use them.

Oh ok lol.
My questions have been answered before I posted :P. Gotta love it. :D

Thanks a bunch Xoben for giving me the tools and the chance to do it. :)

Lol, note the time of posting... exact (or as exact as shown :P)

Finally this bug has been fixed and NeroBurn 1.0.1.31 comes out. Now NeroAPI is forced to use DAO(Disc at once) mode and BIN/CUE images created by UltraISO 7.2.1.812 can be burned properly.

Thanks Ieremiou for your great help.
Posted by Ieremiou on Jun. 19 2004,12:13
Great, If you need any me for beta testing things. I'll be available :)... Although DVD Recording I can not do until I get a DVD Burner.
Posted by xoben on Jun. 20 2004,00:42
You can get latest setup package from previous *private* download link. Thank you.
Posted by Ieremiou on Jun. 20 2004,02:59
Alright, downloaded, and burning using NeroBurn and it's doing the BIN/CUE burning properly since it found the DISC and didn't have problems with the UltraISO's track layout since you changed the burning technique to DISC-at-once.
Thanks a bunch, I can say that this is getting my seal of approval.
Now just add the refresh and we can call it even. :;): hehe.

Thanks Xoben you're the best.

NOTE: SoftDisc using any of the formats made by UltraISO works just fine... Even Winamp recognizes the audio tracks and DOSBox sees it as a real CD and CD Drive.

Thanks double guys, you're the best I've seen yet.

Too bad I have no need for EasyBoot program since I don't make boot discs and have no need for them yet.
