Topic: Notepad.exe does not execute after editing ISO

When we create a WinPE ISO file using the MS tool used to create such files, we can boot using the CD and all included executables work fine.

If we update the ISO to add new drivers or other files to the ISO file, we can save the file and burn a new CD just fine.  However, when we execute notepad.exe or any other EXE that has a GUI, those programs fail.  The message presented at the command line is, "The system cannot execute the specified program."  This happens even if the command is fully qualified.

What is interesting is that the OS boots just fine.  The path exists, and so on.

Is there a step we are failing to take?  We use the File Save As and create a new filename.

Thanks in advance.

Very long filename is used by WinPE. Please set image property as the attached picture for saving to a new ISO.

I changed the ISO properties per the image and re-saved the ISO.  The new CD acted the same as before.  I also wrote a file with a completely new name, burned the CD, etc.  Same result.

The ability to modify these ISOs is why I purchased UltraISO.  It appears to work, but...

Please send the first 1MB data of both ISO images(the original and modified) to us (service@ezbsystems.com) for detailed checking. A small tool at < http://www.ezbsys.com/download/filecut.exe > may help you to do so.
