Confirmed information bout ISZ (compressed ISO) format:
1) < ISZ File Format Specification V1.00 >
2) < Free command-line utility unisz.zip >, which can uncompress any ISZ images created by UltraISO (It is part of ISZ SDK)
3) If < License Agreement for ISZ SDK > is acceptable , you can apply for a copy of ISZ SDK free of charge.

Confirmed information bout ISODrive:
1) You can mount/unmount ISZ images as many time as you want, no need to restart Windows
2) isocmd.exe can control ISODrive without UltraISO
3) Mounting ISOs during system startup is available: please run the attached REG file before reset Windows.

Any idea what`s happen here:

??? This error message is result of trying to create *.iso image with new relese 8.5.1.1860 update #1.

Is there some way to enable AutoRun (AutoPlay) on integrated virtual drives?

Posted by schwob on Oct. 06 2006,03:35
There was a feature in the previous version that i'm missing from this one:
The ability to choose the media type (CD or DVD) to burn. It was perfect in order to burn a small compilation onto DVD...

Since version 8.5.1, UltraISO will detect media type in the recorder automatically, so the 'DVD Disc' option is not needed anyway.

I try to create *.iso image with last release of UltraISO (trial version - NOTE: files for image compilation are less than 300MB), but when I try to "Save As", set destination and file name, by clicking "Save" button the error window above pop-up. When I click "OK" button, UltraISO just freeze at this state :

the "Stop" button of "Progress" window have no sense, and while I click on "X" (to close main window), then prompt this: ,

> choose "No" -> UltraISO is closed
> choose "Yes" -> when try to save with new file name the same error window above poped-up, if try to save with the same name, another error occur : "File 'XXX' Create Error!" ('XXX' is file destination), and then prompt:

> "Yes" -> quit
> "No" -> return to UltraISO main window

That`s all  :( .

Note: I have Alcohol 120% (1.9.5.4521), Daemon Tools 4.06HE, and VMware Workstation (5.5.2.29772) instaled on my host!

Since version 8.5.1, UltraISO will detect media type in the recorder automatically, so the 'DVD Disc' option is not needed anyway.

In my case, I have a small compilation (fits on a CD).
When I insert a DVD-RW, UltraIso (Nero, I should say) tells me that I insert a wrong media type.
On my previous version,  I didn't have this problem thanks to the switch.
Now I have to burn directly from Nero. That's a kind of a step behind...

Possible reason: The media is inserted AFTER 'Burn' button was clicked.
Note: V8.51 detects the media type at the time of clicking 'Burn' button, if you put the media after that point, a problem may occur.

Nope.
Here is the error message:

The function is now unusable for me. Am I alone ?
Also, when I click 'Fermer' (Close in english) it can freeze UltraISO !
I regret the previous version...

Hello schwob, please re-download UltraISO from < http://www.ezbsystems.com/dl.php?file=uiso8_pe.exe > ,  which call back the 'DVD Disc' option to avoid problems with Samsung SH-S182/SH-W162 DVD recorders.

Hello.
I have some questions about ISZ file format:
Does a cmd utility to compress ISO images into ISZ exist?
How about < lzma > compression for ISZ images?

You saved my life (well, almost :)
Thank you very much to take my request into account !
BTW, do you remember I am really interested about a SDK of UltraISO (even not free) ?

At last, may I suggest 2 more features ?
1st: when extracting a file from ISO, there's an annoying read-only tag on the extracted file (same as a file from CD operation). Is there a way (option?) to remove it?
2nd: It would be useful to drag'n drop files/folders between 2 UltraISO sessions.

Best regards,
S. Schwob

Yes, but it is a mid-term plan.

FYI

The Media Detect issue is not just with the Samsung drive.

I have 2 DVD burners
HP DVD Writer 840x
LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1673S

It would not detect that I had a DVD disc in either drive.  I restarted the Application as well so the disc was in the drive well before the Burn Button was pressed.

I downloaded the File you recommended here and it fixed my issue.  So please put this back in on the next rev as well.

Thanks!!
