I have an operating system, originally a .uif file then converted to .iso file.  I want to put it on a bootable cd to help restore a friend's computer.  This .iso file I have doesn't seem to be bootable in it's present form.  I've looked at the UltraIso help files for instructions and I get stuck on the reference to a "boot image file".  I don't know what this is or where to find one, and the instructions assume everyone has it.

Can someone give me specific instructions for taking this unbootable .iso file, making it bootable and then putting it on a CD that is bootable.  Bear in mind that I don't know much about this, especially about the "boot image file".

Thanks...Dan

If it makes a difference, the operating system is Windows XP.

'boot image file' is system dependent.

Windows 2000/XP/2003: w2ksect.bin
Windows Vista/2008/7/8: vistaldr.bin

Thanks for making these files available.  I don't know what to do with them, but it's a good start.

It is recommanded to start UltraISO, press F1 and browse for topic "Make Bootable CD/DVD".
