Forum: UltraISO Topic: DVD/RW media requires setting mode page to use DAO started by: Ed Levy Posted by Ed Levy on Oct. 20 2014,00:09
I am on Windows 7. I am getting the error messageDVD/RW media requires setting mode page to use DAO writing. I have tried multiple times. I have tried using TAO (and still get the DAO message). I don't know what setting mode page means and can't find it on the forum. I just purchased and registered ULTRAIso. This is my first time using it. Posted by xoben on Dec. 17 2014,01:52
This is a problem relate to device driver from Microsoft, and has been fixed in Windows 8/8.1.For older version of Windows, please download and install Intel AHCI device driver from < http://downloadmirror.intel.com/17882/eng/IATA89ENU.exe > (old computer) or < http://downloadmirror.intel.com/23496/eng/SetupRST.exe > (new i3/i5/i7 computer) and try again. We are sorry that no solution is available for AMD chipset yet. Update: This issue has been fixed since version 9.6.5. You may get latest version from < http://www.ezbsystems.com/ultraiso/download.htm > . Posted by casterle on May 20 2015,17:34

We are sorry that no solution is available for AMD chipset yet. I purchased UltraISO back in 2005 and love its features. Unfortunately, I am no longer able to burn DVD's with it due to this bug. Installing the driver you suggest destabilized my system and I had to restore from backup to fix the problem. I don't understand why UltraISO has this issue; even the free ImgBurn program works without a problem. Would you please find a fix that doesn't involve installing a driver?
