Hallo,I just started to burn to a new rewritable DVD and got the message: "Failed: Unformatted or Blanc Media" Why does UltraISO not format the disk without any message like other burning tools do? Because I didn’t find any option to format the disk I tried "erase". This worked. Then I again started to burn and got the message: "This rewritable disc you inserted is not empty. Do you want to erase it?" I thought UltraISO did already erase the disk... (Ulta ISO 8.5.1.1860) Posted by xoben on Oct. 20 2006,20:54
Thanks User 69 for the bug report.BTW, are you using DVD+RW , -RW or -RAM disc? Posted by User 69 on Oct. 21 2006,03:44
I used Octron DVD+RW bought at Lidl in Germany. To prevent misunderstanding: After I got the message "This rewritable disc you inserted is not empty. Do you want to erase it?" I clicked "yes" and UltraISO burned the DVD. But I think this message should not appear. Posted by xoben on Oct. 22 2006,00:19

Just checked the case, most DVD recorders do report NOT EMPTY STATUS for empty DVD+RW discs. Posted by User 69 on Oct. 22 2006,11:11

QUOTE most DVD recorders do report NOT EMPTY STATUS for empty DVD+RW discs I just tested again: I don’t know why, but Ultra ISO used NeroAPI Version 7.5.1.1 although I didn’t chose any burning tool and thought, Ultra ISO would use its own one. I imported "UltraBurn"="1" to the registry of Ultra ISO to force using the build in burning tool. But the message appears also then. If it would be a report from the recorder, Nero should show the message too. But Nero Burning ROM 7.5.1.1 doesn’t! Recorder: LG "HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4167B" |
