I am experimenting with ERD Commander 2007 on my multiboot CD and am having a problem. If I boot the original ISO image then ERD fully loads up--it finds the network card drivers, finds the hard drive partitions and lets me explore the computer. When I try to run ERD from EZBOOT it loads up but does not find any drivers (no network, no hard drive, etc) and gives a WINBOM error.

Note that I have XP/SP3 on the same CD. In order to get ERD Commander to boot I have renamed its i386 directory to ERDC, edited the setupldr.bin and erdcboot.bin files to use the right path, and used the hex editor trick to get around the NTLDR error. ERD boots up fine, however it cannot find any drivers. Do I need to edit the txtsetp.sif file or something else?

Thanks

It’s a wild guess   but test this:
1. Use UltraIso to create your ISO and use “loader.bin” in folder ezboot as boot-file
2. Don’t check “Joliet” or “Allow lower case” or “DOS (8:3)” leave these unchecked

I deleted and recreated the ISO with the following options, still no good

I thought maybe an old file in the XP i386 folder so deleted it and still same error.

I also burned a CD and tried it that way same thing.

Searching through forums it looks like an old problem.

Yes you are so right – this problem pops up from time to time :O
Not much to help to solve this problem :(

However you can try using my script easyboot-iso.script and in script check “Run ISO from ram” - but most likely your problem remains ???

I used the shareware CDIMAGE GUI tool to create the ISO image, and ERD Commander 2005 started working. Opening the image in UltraISO showed that it was using 8.3 naming syntax with Joliet extensions. When I recreate the image in UltraISO using those options, ERD Commander 2005 works just fine, but the ERD Commander 2010 stuff that uses vistaldr.bin stops working with complaints about can't find bootmgr. Bizarre

Test following two options
1. Rename ”bootmgr” to uppercase just to see if vistaldr.bin is able to find bootmgr
2. Test to short name “vistaldr.bin” to erd.bin and see if it works this way
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
However can you please use my script easyboot-iso.script and test if you can avoid problem generated by “DOS (8:3) limit scenario” (do not check “DOS 8:3” when creating ISO in EasyBoot)
Note: When using script do not check “Run ISO from ram” as your version of ERD is based on NT6-system (Vista/Win-7/Server-2008) and hereby doesn’t need to be loaded to RAM before launched.
Using this method you might avoid the “Winbom-problem” (if you are lucky)

Hi there,
i managed to boot Erdcommander Vista (32/64bit)/ Win 7 (32/64bit) by using Balders script "Easyboot-ISO" (no RAM activated),
Erdcommander XP by using the Script with RAM activiated.
