To balder... "the GURU"

Sir, i want to create a simple multi boot dvd iso using easyboot  by having win xp sp2 , sp3 in the iso.

i have gone through the steps from starting like :-

1. Extracted all the items from the xp sp 2 iso to the

     C:\EasyBoot\disk1    , directory

2. and while extracting the second iso file of sp3 the power iso is saying the folder 1386,$oem$, ...etc etc already exists should i overwrite them ... how to cope with this issue i know overwriting them will cause serious errors in the  iso .

3. what commands should i use in easyboot to run this sp2 and sp3 from boot menu...

Yes of course it does :O
You obviously can only have one folder I386 on the root of Easyboot (the root of Easyboot is folder disk1 if you wonder)

You can test pushing Help-button in EasyBoot and chose >>User's Guide>>Practical Guide>>Create Nin1 bootable CD/DVD with multiple Windows NT/2000/XP

But this works most likely only for English edition of WinXP ???

Another way is to use my script "easyboot-aio.script" to solve this issue :)

In script you set different name to folder I386.
In your case you can use a name in textbox in script like 'XPS2' (WinXP_sp2)
And the next candidate use a name in textbox in script like 'XPS3' (WinXP_sp3)

Script automatically hex edit files etcetera and that's it
Note: Script also gives you what menu command to use in EasyBoot menu

regards balder

First of all you must extract folder balder from downloaded ZIP-file (use your favorit zip-program).
Note: make sure to put folder 'balder' on the root of your harddisk (C:\)

Open Folder 'balder' and double-click to 'READ_ME.html'
'READ_ME.html' show how to 'active' scripts
I'm sure you now can get 'easyboot-aio.script' up in 'ready' to run position.

You can in script push on a tiny button 'Help' and by doing this, you are presented an webpage with pictures and explanations.

However I have created a flash-movie (you need flash-player in your system - which you most likely already have installed as it is frequently used on the web)

Download and extract folder 'AIO' from HERE

Double-click to 'aio.html' in folder AIO

Note: To use 'easyboot-aio.script' you must prepare 'source-folders' that are related to your different WinXP setup-files.

Have all files of WinXP_sp2 in a folder and scroll in script to this folder
And the same to WinXP_sp3 (must have files and folders in a separate folder somewhere.

Well I never said that you should copy files and folders manually to folder disk1 ???
But you can use that solution for one of WinXP-sources.

If using one folder I386 in folder 'disk1' (and all files and folders that belongs to that folder I386) you can use menu command:  run W2KSECT.BIN
Check that you do have a file 'W2KSECT.BIN' in folder 'ezboot'!

------------------------------------------------------
Quote: "extracted xp sp3 iso on local disk d:/xp sp3"

It's important you don't have spaces in names to folders and files
I quote from help-file "READ_ME.html" in folder 'balder': "Scripts are sensitive to spaces in files and folder names"
Same is to other script that handle ISO-files
NO SPACES IN NAMES PLEASE!

Make sure to extract everything from XP_sp3-ISO-file to your folder 'XP_sp3'!
Again - NO SPACES in folder name please.

Quote: "what other files we require from sp3 folder taht are copied to the ezboot/disk1 ...?"
You don't need to worry- script doesn't "forget" any files or folders :;):

----------------------------------------
About names to folders and files...
Example: You can use names like 'XP_SP3' or 'XP-SP3' but not 'XP sp3' as name to folder.
Same is to other script - NO SPACES IN NAMES PLEASE!
You can use ISO-name like this: 'hiren-23456.iso' or 'hiren_new.iso' but not names like this: 'hiren new.iso' or 'hiren 2345.iso'

Could you please read carefully 'READ_ME.html' in folder 'balder' ???
Note: most of scripts also have a 'Help-button' it is a pretty good idea to use those buttons as well :;):
