No, I'm the one who didn't explain well. What I meant is that it run as it should, meaning from (hd0,0). The problem remains, though... :/

Well if this is the case - change USB stick to a different one
Or as you said: " We are running out of options... xD"
As told - change USB device to a different one (another USB stick\Thumb-drive)
Eeee... Hopefully you are plugging in USB stick directly to computer and not to some odd USB hub - correct

Ok, I'll try that. But I'm only able to do so in a week or so, as all my secondary equipament is at home.
Then I'll tell you the news, hopefully good ones.
Take care, balder. And thank you for your help so far. ;)

This time I tried with a USB flash drive, not a USB micro SD card reader, and it worked. I now have my project working.
I therefore conclude that WinSetupFromUSB doesn't work for all removable devices.
Let's just hope that the next version of EasyBoot allows us to boot XP from USB without need for outside intervention. And another thing that would be interesting was figuring out a way to create the bootable usb in NTFS. The current filesystem (FAT32) is limiting some options, specially in what concerns the modification of Windows 7 setup files. You told somewhere that your script can solve that, but I 've tried it and didn't work, strange... But even so, there are some things you can't do if you use the script. For example, this case: you couldn't boot XP from USB and have the NTFS filesystem. It's another thing EasyBoot has to improve, so that we don't have to use outside tools. I hope xoben sees this, although I guess he already knows about this kind of problems.
Thank you, balder, for all your help. You are, without question, an asset to the EasyBoot community. ;)

Well yes - and no I tested to a microsd-card (sandisk M2) and it worked correctly after I have run script; 'easyboot-usb-ghost.script' and choose "Repair BOOT-record" (as instructed in post nr;6).
I could then use WinSetupFromUSB.exe correctly - though I needed to follow instructions including "Writing new MBR-boot-sector" as instructed by WinSetupFromUSB.exe during process.
I'm drawing conclusion that it must be something odd with that MicroSD-card of yours It really should run just fine without hesitating.
-------------------------------- Quote: "Let's just hope that the next version of EasyBoot allows us to boot XP from USB without need for outside intervention" Well that would be a 'giant step' forward However I think it only can be solved modifying USB stick to a kind of 'synthetic CD\DVD-unit" - if possible!
--------------------------------- Quote: "a way to create the bootable usb in NTFS" Sure that would be interesting - but I guess it needs serious changes to the 'BOOT-sequence' in EasyBoot (file ezldr etcetera). --------------------------------------
Quote: "You told somewhere that your script can solve that" Yes and it do works! You must use the ISO created by EasyBoot and launch that ISO (which can run on NTFS without problem). However files on the root of EasyBoot (files and folders in folder disk1) should be removed (except folder 'ezboot' of course) - followed by copying those files and folders to the root of USB device. Note: 'easyboot-grub-iso.script' can do this automatically!
I use this method to my 500GB USB harddisk 'Buffalo', where I have two partitions. Partition one is NTFS and partition two is FAT32 (need FAT32 to run Linux Live-ISO-files) From partition one (NTFS) I can launch Win7-VHD-file, which is a fully functional Win7-system (I use menu from launched EasyBoot-ISO-file). I copy ISO;s that need FAT32, to the second FAT32-partition (Linux\isolinux-distros etcetera)
Note: The Win7-VHD-file needs NTFS to run correctly (FAT32 doesn't work). Read post nr;15 HERE (Credits to @ allgames71 for interesting 'approach' and ideas).
---------------------------------
Finally and I quote: "Thank you, balder, for all your help." Well thank you to your-self for a interesting discussion
regards balder
