Hello again,

I recently tried to integrate a Linux LiveCD into my usb stick(knoppix, pclinux, dsl etc.)
This time no luck.

Could you, please recommend a version that goes ok with Easyboot on USB? I just need some basic  apps, nothing complicated - internet, office, a bit multimedia ....

Thank you

Well bitdefender is a nice and powerful tool, read HERE

I also tested including dsl (damn small Linux) :)

To integrate dsl into EasyBoot do as follow:

1. Open ISO (I use UltraIso to this kind of operations)

2. Extract folder 'knoppix' to folder disk1 in EasyBoot

3. Delete folder knoppix inside ISO-file and in UltraIso choose to 'save as' to folder EZBOOT (I used dsl.iso as name to ISO-file)

4. Use menu command:  run dsl.iso  (or whatever name you use to ISO-file)

5. Tick only 'Joliet' when creating ISO in EasyBoot

This worked but I must admit my mouse didn't work well (I have no idea why)

Well, this time I got message: " Can't find KNOPPIX filesystem, sorry ....."
Can you give me the link for the DSL iso tested by you? Maybe that one will work.

thank you,

Did you extract folder 'knoppix' from ISO-file to folder disk1 in EasyBoot ???
Because this is vital :O
Another important part is to tick 'Joliet' when creating ISO in EasyBoot :O

Hi again,

Now it worked, but no mouse and keyboard at all, so that .....

Any idea about pclinux (PCLinuxOS-LXDE-2012.12.iso)? Didn't find any reference on forum.

Thank you for all your help

Sure :;):
Easiest is to practice 'frugal solution' to this ISO-file
Note: I used downloaded ISO from HERE

Do it this way:

1. Open ISO-file (I used UltraIso to the whole operation below)

2. Extract file 'livecd.sqfs' to folder disk1 in EasyBoot

3. You can now delete file 'livecd.sqfs' inside ISO-file

4. Save changes (Save As) to ISO-file and save ISO to folder EZBOOT

5. Use menu command:  run pclinuxos.iso  (or whatever name you use to ISO-file)

6. Tick 'Joliet' when creating ISO in EasyBoot.

Note: solution works from both CD\DVD-unit as from USB device (I used USB stick)
