I've been working with an evaluation copy of EasyBoot now for nearly two days.  I've been through lots of ups and downs, and my hope has been to be able to create a boot DVD which includes a Bart's PE Builder CD, a Win98 setup CD and a WinXP Pro setup CD.  After many trials and errors, and many burns later, I've created this DVD using EasyBoot.  And, many thanks to previous posters to the EasyBoot forum, btw.

One problem remains.  When I boot from EasyBoot to the Win98 setup portion of the DVD using setup98.img in the ezboot directory everything seems to work fine.  But, when I choose to go to MSDOS mode with (or without) CDROM support and run FDISK it doesn't work.  I receive the message asking me if I want to support large disks and hit enter, selecting the default Yes setting.  (It makes no difference whether I choose yes or no at this point.)  After this, FDISK closes out, the screen clears and I'm returned to the command prompt.  If I type FDISK /STATUS I receive a message:  "No fixed disks present."  There are actually two fixed disks present, and I am able to access them both from the command line both before starting FDISK and afterwards.

Any idea what might be causing this problem?  I should note that I am actually using a floppy boot image from a bootable Win98 installation CD I created.  (I own the original, which is not bootable.)  I did notice that FDISK on the floppy image which comes with EasyBoot is different than the one on my image, but replacing this file did not make a difference.

This is a compatible problem, please use other disk partition tools (such as Norton PartitionMagic) instead.

Ahh...  I wish I'd have known that about 274,341,314 hairs ago! hehe  Thanks for the info, I couldn't find anything about this issue on the web site or elsewhere in the forum.  I can certainly use DISKPART through WinPE, which is probably what I'd end up doing anyway.  But, this does bother me a bit.  Is there any possibility that this incompatibility will be addressed in future releases of EasyBoot, or is this just something that will never work properly, by design?

As FDISK is the ONLY partition utility which has compatible problem, we do not know why it does not work under DOS emulation mode. We wish this problem can be resolved someday by our development team.
