I have been trying to include a small memory test to my multi-boot CD.

There is a website, memtest.org, which has some bin images, iso image, and source code.

I create the floppy, boot it, and the program runs fine.  I then created an img file from EasyBoot, added it to my CD and it does not work.  This is not a standard DOS floppy.

I then extracted the iso image, burned it, and it also works.  But can not get UltaISO to extract the boot file, or any other information.  When I try to extract the boot file info, I get no disc in CD-ROM.

I really would like to add this memory test to my CD boot, so anyone who could explain how to do it (since clearly I am missing something) would be greatly appreciated.  The iso is very small 1.2mb, and the floppy is even smaller 168kb.

Thanks.

The other thread does not address this problem.

When I try to extract the boot file image, I get the following error:

"No disc in CD-ROM" eventhough it lists the volume in the pull down memu.

If I open the iso, there are no files listed.  This is version 1.0 of memtest86, or version 3 of memtest.

What am I doing wrong?  Does anyone have another URL to a copy of memtest.iso that has an image that works?

I tested the ISO image from here:

Download - Memtest86 v3.0 ISO image (zip)

For memtest86+ 1.0, open the ISO image you downloaded and use 'Bootable->Save boot file' to get a boot image (it is 1.44MB large).

Thanks Martinx, your link to the ISO worked fine!

I know that Ezbsystems is working on the Linux boot problems, so maybe I just need a little patience, but would it be helpful to send the iso, which has the boot, but which I can't mount the image to extract the boot file?

Please use 'Bootable->Save Boot File' to extract boot image from a bootable ISO image when opened.
