Hardware:

SONY CD-ROM CDU5211 with a athalon 2000+ soyo dragon lite kt 333.

Condition:

Really slow image creation. Estimated time exceeding 8 hours for a single 600 M CD. The CD drive sounds like it keeps trying to spin up. It continually oscillates its speed as if its trying to spin up to speed.

Please post up if you are experiencing same or would like to suggest courses of action. I am currently assuming it is related to my hardware and not UltraISO as I have only seen one other post about super slow image creation on an external forum. Still trying various driver updates from Sony and may uninstall and reinstall cd drive just in case (never know where you might find a bunch of dust bunnies lurking).

How long does it take for you to make an image from a 600 M CD?

Thanks All!

It's about 5 minutes for making a 700MB disc image on my BENQ CD-R/RW(24x10x40).

OK.. It looks like the process speeds up greatly. I walked away from te hmachine and came back after eating dinner (30min) and it was done! Image works perfectly mounted with DAEMON .

I'm not to concerned about the initial slow start. I'll figure that out some other time.

Now all I have to do is fix:

NeroBurn version 1.0.0.23
Copyright ©2002-2003 EZB Systems, Inc.

Cannot open NeroAPI.DLL
make sure Nero-Burning ROM is properly installed

Opps sry, I searched the forum and found the fix. Just go download the current version of Nero and it will work. I guess the rights are somehow neatly included. That could be added to the readme? maybe.

Nero working now but still having burning probs... Will post new thread on what I learn after I try figuring it out on my own..

Thanks!

You can also burn an ISO image by other burning software on your PC, please see a topic here: How to burn an ISO CD image?

Just d/l'd v6.56...see the same problem as original poster when trying to make an ISO image:

The CD drive sounds like it keeps trying to spin up. It continually oscillates its speed as if its trying to spin up to speed.

It appears that after it reads a certain amount of info (10% - 20% ???)from the disc it stops this behaviour and then speedily reads the rest.

Am running Win2K pro.

This is a bug for making multi-session/CD Extra images to BIN/CUE format. It will be fixed at the next release.
