Is this a bug? I needed to uninstall the software in order to remove the virtual drive.

Some "Super Administrator" you are.  It's obvious that you have not even tried that 'solution'.  Sorry, but it does NOT work at all.  Please look into a real solution that works.  Apparently this is indeed a bug.  Either that or an annoying "feature".

This is ridiculous: the phantom drive letter is forever reserved and the settings cannot be changed.  Trying to do that and it just reverts back to "Number of drives: 1" again.  Cannot change the drive letter either like others have mentioned.  I haven't seen a registry setting to change it (yet).  This is with v9.3.5.2716.

Anything I can change in here to get rid of this headache?  It's messing with my drive letters!
HKCU-Software-EasyBootSystems-UltraISO

I use this occasionally so would rather not uninstall it.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ISODrive\Parameters\Device0]
"DRIVE"="H"

solution that worked for me, run ultra iso with admin rights in vista or higher then remove drive, windows blocks it from editing the registry if no admin is running
