I installed Microsoft Vista Ultimate the other day and and I had to remove the Daemon tools.  Once Vista was installed I tried to reinstall the DAEMON Tools V3.47 and I keep getting something like a Vista Blue Screen of Death.  Does anyone know if SoftDisc or Daemon tools will be upgraded so that I can use these tools with Vista.  Or If I should try a later version of the Daemon tools

Thanks

Ok. Ok. Ok.  I think I answered my own question...  I try an use this driver

http://www.disc-tools.com/download/daemon

This directly from there website

DAEMON Tools is a virtual cd/dvd-rom emulator. It is able to emulate nearly all known copy protections on the market today. !! THIS VERSION SUPPORTS 32BIT OS (Windows XP, Windows2003, Windows 2000, VISTA) ONLY !! This version has an option to install client-side software applications (DAEMON Tools Searchbar and Save Now) that deliver a limited number of behaviorally targeted and contextually relevant coupons, ads and comparative shopping results directly to consumers desktops - without compromising the privacy, security or smooth functioning of peoples computers! No URL hijacking or redirects! In order to support FREE distribution of DAEMON Tools we highly encourage you at least to try out this optional software! (you can remove it anytime later when you wish: via Control Panel-> Add/Remove Programs)

For Windows Vista, please do it as the following:
1) Download Daemon-Tools 4.08 from http://dw.ezbsys.net/daemon408-x86.exe and setup it first
2) Setup SoftDisc 3.01 ( http://dw.ezbsys.net/scd3_en.exe )

For getting Daemon tools to run with vista do this:

Install daemon tools version 4.09:
http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc....catid=5

It comes with STPD 1.43, but this does not work, so go and get the latest STPD 1.50:
http://www.duplexsecure.com/downloads/

The last program makes the difference. Once installed, daemon tools will run.

Hi,

I have still problems during installation with the Daemon Tools on my Vista.

I went through all the advice you have said in this thread and trying to assemble the Daemon Tools different versions (4.08, 4.09 and 4.10) with or wihtout "SPTDinst-v150-x86.exe". Allways windows said that "write failed". I found out that the "write failed" appears when installing the SPTDxxx.exe.

I have reboot the computer after installing and after uninstall. My computer is 2-core AMD 1.6 GHz / 2 GB with Vista.

I have a virus protection program from F-Secure. I trying to turn the Virus and Spy -protection as low is possible with fatstened internet access. Is this a problem on this case ?

It seems that Vista has taken us back to level where windows was a new name.

What do I have to do?

- Masa

Hi, I've done what explained with DT 4.10 & SoftDisc 3.0.1, but still can't see any drives under My Computer. Is this correct?
I've always used DT under XP now trying to configure under Vista Ultimate.
Thanks

Seems quite a few people are having problems with Vista and Daemon Tools.

My situation is this: my brother has installed an unknown version number of Daemon Tools on his laptop (Samsung R60 (Intel Core Duo T2450 - 2GHz, 1GB RAM), Windows Vista), and now every time Vista boots, but after a few seconds, it brings up a message saying "This program is blocked due to compatibility issues".  I hit cancel, and within seconds it brings up a blue screen, dumps the physical memory and resets itself.

I can't actually do anything within the time it takes to boot up to the error message, and haven't got a copy of Vista (none supplied with the laptop) or a backup disc.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can get the software off and restore normal running to Vista?  I have managed to delete the reference to the program in the registry, but can't delete the folder on the C: drive as I don't have permission, apparently.
