When I tried to burn DVDs on a Windows XPSP2 machine, I always get the following error message:

"Error setting timestamp; this error will be ignored, some drives can work without this"

I also noticed that I can't set the "write speed" on this machine either. It's always set to "maximum".

I'm using UltraISO v7.6.0.1081 and got the exact same error with all previous versions of UltraISO on this machine.

On another 2nd Windows XPSP2 machine with the same make, model, and ROM version of DVD burner (NEC ND-3520AW3.04), I do not get this error message and can set the write speed.

I noticed on this 2nd working machine, that I also get something about "Using NeroAPI 6.6.0.1" at the top of the UltraISO messages. I don't get this message on the machine with the timestamp error message. So, I'm wondering why this difference and is this related to the timestamp error message? And, I'm hoping that someone can explain what is happening and what's the deal about the reference to NeroAPI too? The DVDs burned on both machines seem to be fine after burning though, but the error and difference worries me.

Thanks!

Joe

1) Your 2nd machine has Nero Burning ROM installed, and UltraISO will burn a DVD by Nero burning engine directly, and a message 'Using NeroAPI x.x.x.x' will be displayed.
2) Your previous machine has no Nero, so Microsoft dvdburn utility will be used as burning software. The warning message comes out if your DVD writer is not a compatible device of dvdburn.
