I'm new to this.
My ultimate goal is to create an image containing audio/data (mixed-mode) that a very novice user can download from my web-site and burn to a CD, which they can put in the CD player for audio or their computer for data.
I'd appreciate assistance on a number of things, please.
First, is an ".iso" file extension strictly used when creating a data CD? I was under the impression that my target for my mixed-mode CD was a "filename.iso". I feel I may be mistaken about this.
Using NERO, I was able to create a .nrg file, but NOT an .iso file, which I then ran through a utility nrg2iso to get to an iso. I fear the effect was not as intended. I think the .nrg may actually be the mixed-mode image, but the conversion to the .iso, followed by burning of the .iso yielded just the data and NOT the audio on the target CDR. If I'm correct that the .nrg file actually properly represents my mixed-mode CD, I'm still not in favor of this because it requires users to own NERO.
My hope is that I can create an image and have very novice users be able to download the image using easy-to-get (freeware / shareware) burning software to burn the mixed mode image to their CD.
Thanks for any help on procedures and easy-to-get Iinexpensive) tools that I can use to create the image as well as suggestions to let users know how to get the image and burn the image.
Best regards ... Mike

Suggestion: 1) You can use Nero or UltraISO to create a Mixed mode CD image, convert or save as BIN/CUE format 2) Use Nero/Roixo to burn, cdrdao (freeware) is also available to record BIN/CUE images
