Greetings,
I have downloaded the Microsoft virtual drive utility [unsupported] and UltraISO [shareware at the moment].
I have created an image and can mount it once to the virtual drive. And the software package [HALO] runs that is loaded on the virtual drive.
Problem: When I re-boot the image is no longer mounted and if I try to mount it again, I have to remove the drive and drivers and re-install. I don't know if this is a limit to the shareware version of UltraISO or the virtual drive stuff from Microsoft. I do not have to create a new image, just the virtual drive stuff.
My goal is to create virtual drives with the game software [HALO, SIMS, etc.] and put the CDs away so they don't get damaged any more than they are already. It would be a nice feature if I could install the virtual drives on a network drive and still have it load properly, but that is less important since the harddrives are now 160GB.
Now that I have looked at SoftDisc, I am curious if this is the answer to my questions. Can anyone advise me on this?
Thanks for your assistance!
Best regards, Fred

For game CDs, it is recommanded to use Alcohol 120% or CloneCD, which can backup copy-protected CDs.
