The new ISZ format sounds interesting - is there any information on whether or not any of the Virtual CD/DVD utilities (Daemon Tools, Alcohol, etc.) will support it?

Hello mwb1100, the new ISZ format is not supported by Daemon-Tools or Alcohol 120% yet.

Ok, but is it supposed to be supported later and work and decompress in real time? It seems quite slow (as zip) when opening files in UltraISO. Or, it will need to decompress before mounting? Why it shows the password in open text? What is the purpose of splitting images? Are you supposed to be able to mount split image without combining? Like one part on DVD, another on HD?
THanks.

No, no need to decompress the image, only the sectors needed are uncompressed. QUOTE What is the purpose of splitting images? For examples: - Store DVD images on FAT volumes (Windows 98) - Split a DVD image to several parts and burn to CD discs, as well as burn large file (200GB, for example) to several DVD discs. QUOTE Are you supposed to be able to mount split image without combining?Like one part on DVD, another on HD? At present, UltraISO can burn multi-part ISZ images directly to one DVD/CD. The future version will ask for segmented file location if is not found from default folder, so you can store them on different media.
