I have a bootable cd image file (.iso). I don't want to burn it to a cd instead I want to transfer it to a usb flash drive. I use UltraISO to open the bootable iso file and extract the content to the usb drive. But the usb drive is NOT bootable (my BIOS is capable to boot from usb drive). How could i make my usb drive bootable with this iso iamge file?

Please help, thank you!!

You can't make it bootable with the iso image.

You need to use syslinux, grub4dos, etc to make it bootable in conjunction with, say, the hp format utility.

Plenty of stuff on this in the 911cd forums: http://www.911cd.net/forums/

That's right. But applying the iso image to a usb stick will not make a usb stick bootable. Booting for the two works differently. usb booting works more like your harddisk than CD.

So is there a way to make the USB drive bootable?
I searched google and found hundreds of sites about how to make usb drive boot to DOS. Actually I have a iso image of bootable cd for reset the admin password on WinXP written in Lunux I just want to put it in my usb drive.

Yes, take a look at the forums I linked to -- there's specifically a subforum devoted to the issue.

There's various ways on getting what is on the CD to boot from usb. I prefer to just load the iso image from usb into ram and boot it from there.
