HiI have four items below the flash memory. Please guide 1 - win8 2-active boot disk 3-kasperasky rescuse 4-repair win8 I can only guess flash memory on each of them separately. But I want all of them together on Flash Memory Please guide Posted by balder on Sep. 18 2013,08:59
@john57Welcome to EasyBoot @john57 ![]() Quote: "I have four items below the flash memory" The 'Win8' case... 1. Copy folders and files (or extract from ISO-file) to folder disk1 in EasyBoot 2. In EasyBoot menu use menu command: run \bootmgr ------------------------- The 'active boot disk case'... Note: I assume this is active boot disk-5 or later release (active5 is based on Win7 or later) and that you have a ISO-file of this active boot disk ![]() Note2: there are more than one 'active boot disk' (the name 'active boot disk' is used to a lot of different distro's including linux-based active boot disks) 1. Copy ISO-file of active boot disk to folder EZBOOT 2. EasyBoot menu use menu command: run active5.iso (or whatever name you use to ISO-file) ------------------------ The 'repair win8' case... Read < HERE > ------------------------- The kasperasky rescuse case... Her we have some problems. Earlier releases of kaspersky could be run from USB flash but latest release seems to not be that cooperative anymore ![]() Read earlier solution in post nr;4 < HERE > I cannot - at present time - find any better solution to the latest release of kaspersky. Try only kaspersky and see if that one works (temporarily skip Win8 and active boot disk to speed up your testing of solution) EDIT: I did test my own tutorial for kaspersky from USB - and to my surprise it worked okay ![]() Note: you must test kaspersky in 'reality' (boot computer from USB drive and launch kaspersky). You cannot run a test in some 'simulator' I also did a fresh download of kaspersky ISO (latest release) Only tick 'Joliet' in 'options' when creating ISO in EasyBoot Further more... Install latest release of EasyBoot and same to UltraISO ![]() balder Posted by john57 on Sep. 18 2013,15:26
HiEach of these four items separately as well. My first steps into Windows 8 completely, but when I do I want the files to a folder on disk with active boot disk 1, I get an error. Because some Windows files are the same file. Kindly guide in this regard. How active boot disk suite 7.2 files to disk 1, I would add that the Thank Posted by balder on Sep. 18 2013,16:07
@john57Quote: " I repeate: 1. Copy ISO-file of active boot disk to folder EZBOOT 2. This can easily be solved by extract the vital 'BOOTDISK.KEY' from inside of ActiveBootDisk.ISO-file to folder disk1 in EasyBoot (folder disk1 is the 'root' in EasyBoot if you wonder) So in folder 'disk1' you now at least have a folder EZBOOT and a file BOOTDISK.KEY Only tick 'Joliet' in 'options' when creating ISO in EasyBoot Further more... HiIn both the image file (Active Boot Disk + Windows 8) is the source folder. Extract the folder on Disk 1 error message is issued. What can be done to solve this problem? The program could I use WinBuilder. Because bcdboot error while running the notepad file is created and the program will stop. Thanks Posted by balder on Sep. 20 2013,06:17
@john57Quote: "The program could I use WinBuilder" At this point you have no use of my scripts - instead create ISO-file using ActiveBootDisk-creator (chose to create ISO and put ISO into folder EZBOOT) Quote: "Extract the folder on Disk 1 error message is issued" Well I never told you to extract anything from ISO-file of ActiveBootDisk I told you to launch ActiveBootDisk-creator and chose to create ISO-file of ActiveBootDisk and to put this ISO-file into folder EZBOOT And in EasyBoot menu use menu command: run activebootdisk.iso (or whatever name you use to ISO-file) Attention! The latest releases of EasyBoot have capacity to directly launch ISO-files as they are - and ActiveBootDisk.iso is such ISO-file that EasyBoot can launch without extracting folder 'sources' to folder disk1 I repeat YOU DON'T need folders and files related to ActiveBootDisk as we can use ISO-file I repeat from post nr; 5 I found 'active-boot-disk-7' and installed it to my system (I currently run Win7_sp1) I launched active-boot-disk and chose to create ISO I created ISO in folder EZBOOT with the name 'ActiveBootDisk.ISO' And as expected active-boot-disk is based from an source of a NT6-system (most likely Win7_sp1 or similar) In EasyBoot I used menu command: run ActiveBootDisk.ISO But then you run into trouble as active-boot-disk is looking for the 'BOOTDISK.KEY' (name and license information) Active-boot-disk is unable to find and confirm the vital 'BOOTDISK.KEY' as this file 'BOOTDISK.KEY' is inside ISO. Install latest release of EasyBoot and same to UltraISO Create ISO and finally in EasyBoot use 'Burn>Write USB Disk...' This works Extra EDIT... I created a 'flash-movie' to help you along... Download zip-file ActiveBoot.zip from < HERE > Extract zip-file to C: Open extracted folder ActiveBoot and double-click to file 'activeboot.html' Note: you must have 'flash-player' installed to your computer (which you most likely to 99% already have - flash-player is used all over the webb) You can now follow all steps how to integrate ActiveBootDisk.ISO into EasyBoot ---------------------------------------- balder Posted by john57 on Sep. 21 2013,09:51
HiActive boot disk was successfully carried out the flash training. Well Repair disc Windows 8 32 - bit also successfully implemented. However, when running Windows 8 and kav_rescue_10 encountered an error. Please if you are training for me to put two flash files. Comments menu in Windows 8, the run / bootmgr Copy and paste the commands you got. Is it necessary to put a forward slash? Posted by balder on Sep. 21 2013,11:04
@john57Quote: " Active boot disk was successfully" Yes this was expected ![]() --------------------------- Quote: "when running Windows 8 and kav_rescue_10 encountered an error" What error related to Win8 do you get when using menu command: run \bootmgr ![]() Because Win8 shouldn't be any problem to integrate into EasyBoot About issue with kaspersky... Note: I already in post nr;2 very clearly wrote - and I quote: "Earlier releases of kaspersky could be run from USB flash but latest release seems to not be that cooperative anymore" This means - no guaranties it works for kaspersky from USB flash drive ![]() Quote: "Comments menu in Windows 8, the run / bootmgr Copy and paste the commands you got. HiI tested again., But still does not run Windows 8 and Kaspersky correctly. Course Kasprsky file download from the link given did not., And I used my file. Windows 8 to step forward and stops loading files. Kasprsky graphics and the error is written as # ~ and then stops working. Quote: " if you are training for me to put two flash files" I don't understand what you mean I mean something like the link below. I created a 'flash-movie' to help you along... Download zip-file ActiveBoot.zip from HERE Posted by balder on Sep. 22 2013,04:24
@john57Quote: "Kasprsky graphics and the error is written as # ~ and then stops working" Yes I do understand your frustration - but as told before - quote: "Earlier releases of kaspersky could be run from USB flash but latest release seems to not be that cooperative anymore"... I guess we are stuck here regarding kaspersky - not much I can do ![]() Note: to integrate and run kaspersky from CD\DVD-unit is no problem but from USB drive seems to be a problem The problem is NOT related to EasyBoot, it is related to how kaspersky acts when launched from USB drive! Quote: "Windows 8 to step forward and stops loading files." This is strange behaviour by Win8 - it is a mystery ![]() What method did you perform to test your final build Did you test in 'reality' (reboot computer and run setup from EasyBoot menu on USB flash drive)? Or did you some test from some 'virtual environment'? You could test using my script 'usb-nt6-setup.script' Test this: 1. Use a USB flash disk (8 GB in size recommend to use) 2. Make sure you don't have spaces in paths and names to folders (push to 'help-button' in script) Note: This is only to test that your source of Win8 is working from USB in an correct way ![]() Report back what happens ![]() balder Posted by john57 on Sep. 22 2013,05:22
Beginning with Windows 8, ultraiso open and I've extracted all the files in disk1.Then In EasyBoot menu use menu command: run \ bootmgr I have a 4GB flash memory. But I also use 8GB of flash memory, but still not right. Wanted to program 'usb-nt6-setup.script' I use. But I was faced with bcdboot.exe error. I always reboot computer and run setup from Easy Boot menu on USB flash drive. Posted by balder on Sep. 22 2013,06:43
@ john57Quote: "I was faced with bcdboot.exe error" You are recommended to test setup from DVD to make sure there isn't a hardware problem ![]() Test from DVD before testing from USB drive However, you can also test the 'standard method' to run setup of Win8 from USB drive to make sure it works at all before using EasyBoot Test this method < HERE > to see how Win8 from USB behaviours before using EasyBoot Report if it works or not ![]() balder Posted by john57 on Sep. 22 2013,09:02
I have other standard methods to install Windows 8 on a Flash Memory've tested them all and have been successfully implemented. After the Windows 8 ISO file into the disk1 I extract the two files bootmgr and bootmgr.efi Exist. Apart from these two files, bootmgr file to another folder by default ezboot there. Please check the following tips Thanks Posted by balder on Sep. 22 2013,13:23
@john57In post nr;2 I wrote - quote: The 'Win8' case... 1. Copy folders and files (or extract from ISO-file) to folder disk1 in EasyBoot 2. In EasyBoot menu use menu command: run \bootmgr Above is tested and works very nice ![]() Note: I tested using Win8 as source ![]() I have no idea why above solution is a problem in your case ![]() --------------- EDIT! I have updated my scripts (found a bug in 'usb-nt6-setup.script' that halted the script - no harm done - but irritating) ![]() Please make a new download and replace the whole folder 'balder' ![]() balder Posted by john57 on Sep. 22 2013,15:59
Script failed to find 'bcdboot.exe'!You need to find Script need a copy of file 'bcdboot.exe' in folder 'Tools' (balder\WinBuilder_Complete\Projects\Tools) You can search your own Windows system and find 'bcdboot.exe' and copy file to folder 'Tools' path to folder 'Tools' is: balder\WinBuilder_Complete\Projects\Tools Attention! If you install Wi-8_32-bit the file 'bcdboot.exe' must be an bcdboot.exe_32-bit file! You can most likely NOT use a bcdboot.exe_32-bit file to create boot-files to USB device that is an Win-8_64-bit installation! Use the same 32/64-bit bcdboot.exe as installed Win-8 system to USB device has! Script clean automatically up and stop the process when you close this Window! Posted by balder on Sep. 23 2013,03:25
@john57Quote: "Script failed to find 'bcdboot.exe'!" Why are you using 'Install and run Win-8 from USB.script' ![]() I clearly instructed you to test using 'USB-NT6-SETUP.script', but you are currently using 'Install and run Win-8 from USB.script' ![]() This script install and run Win8 from USB drive and DO NOT prepare Win8 to run setup from USB drive Please notice difference to run a complete Win8 from USB drive and run SETUP OF Win8 - this is two totally different operations As far as I can understand - you are primarily interested to run setup of Win8 from USB drive (using EasyBoot menu)- correct? I told you to only make a test using 'USB-NT6-SETUP.script' Attention! Do a new download of my scripts and totally replace folder balder with the new downloaded folder balder! I found a bug in script 'USB-NT6-SETUP.script' ![]() However, I tested my suggestions as told in post nr;2 (copy files to folder disk1 and use menu command: run \bootmgr) and this works perfectly ![]() balder Posted by john57 on Sep. 23 2013,08:33
HiThe four items could help you successfully petition to run on flash memory. Thank you and patiently answered my questions are unclear., In the end, it is possible to install Windows xpsp3 on flash memory? Not individually, but I want it to add four items. Please advise if possible. Thanks Posted by balder on Sep. 23 2013,10:05
@john57Quote: "The four items could help you successfully petition to run on flash memory" Nice that you didn't give up and finally solved all four entries - very good ![]() 1 - win8 (solved) 2-active boot disk (solved) 3-kasperasky rescuse (I guess this still is a trouble-maker) 4-repair win8 (solved) ----------------------------------- Quote: "Windows xpsp3 on flash memory?" Well it depends what you mean with 'WinXP on flash' ![]() You can easily run a WinPE-ISO-file (ERD5 or similar) and launch ISO from EasyBoot-menu (but in this case you need my script 'easyboot-iso.script' and in script tick 'Run ISO from RAM') However I guess you mean run setup of WinXP_sp3 from USB flash drive - correct? Run setup of WinXP from USB drive isn't that easy to solve but possible. First you need a special tool - download < HERE > Note: this tool is free to use - no costs or license needed The point is to create the 'setup-folders' of WinXP and copy these (and related files) to folder disk1 in EasyBoot The original tutorial how to run setup of WinXP from USB drive is < HERE > Then test this: I tested using an 'spare' USB stick This is what I did: 1. I copied file setupxp.img from folder 'balder\USB_Resources' to folder EZBOOT and used menu command in EasyBoot: run setupxp.img 2. Launched WinSetupFromUSB_0-2-3.exe 3. Used in WinSetupFromUSB_0-2-3.exe built-in format tool - RMPrepUSB with 'FAT32' and 'XP bootable (NTLDR)' as settings. 4. I browsed to WinXP-files in WinSetupFromUSB_0-2-3.exe 5 Finally pushed to GO and accepted everything 6. When finished, I copied following files and folders (look below) from USB stick with WinXP setup-files to EasyBoot\disk1 $WIN_NT$.~BT $WIN_NT$.~LS BOOT.INI BOOTFONT.BIN NTDETECT.COM NTLDR TXTSETUP.SIF windefault WINNT.SIF WIN51 WIN51IP WIN51IP.SP2 Note: you may have some more 'tag-files' to copy over (win51IP.SP3 or whatever) This seems to work okay - but no guaranties as files are copied from USB drive to folder 'disk1' in EasyBoot (always an hazardous manoeuvre) EDIT! I made a short 'movie' how you can do the WinXP from USB launched from EasyBoot Download and extract - and double-click to 'winxp_usb.html' Download < HERE > balder |
