This post will be multi-part, because I can only add one picture per message

Step 1. You need to export the actual text into the background image - it couldn't be added in Easyboot.

See the picture (note though I've used a Japanese font for the example, and nothing I have typed has any meaning). Draw the text in a clear color which EasyBoot recognizes (I would recommend black).

For the curious.
the 1st line reads 'Is that book over there, Takashi's?' (Ano hon wa no Takashi desu ka.), the katakana word in the second reads 'setupu', and the third line reads 'Yes, that's right' (Hai sou desu.)

I chose japanese of all the non-latin scripts because it's basically the only one I know enough about to make sure I don't offend anyone.

Steps 2 and 3 you will repeat for each menu entry.

2a. Create a menu entru (append/insert)
2b. Leave 'menu text' empty
2c. input the command
2d. add an accelerator key, if appropriate

3a. size the menu so that it covers exactly the text for one item (note, you can do it with the mouse - I didn't highlight the contour, just the affected fields)

3b. set highlight fore to the highlight color (in this example, white), and normal fore to the color of the text (in this case, black)
3c. set highlight back and normal back to the same color (no matter which - just don't use the two used for fore)
3d. check "Use image text"

That's about it. Hope you got the picture.

P.S.
@xoben
you may want to include such explicative images in the help - some may be interested
