I'm new to all of this and just bought Ultra ISO hoping to burn a copy of my WinXP Pro copy residing on my hard drive.  I need to make a bootable win xp pro installation.  I chose to extract the boot file from my original xp pro cd.  I then chose to load boot file to load that bif file.  I then dragged and dropped the xp files from my hard drive to the top pane in Ultra ISO and it read the files.  I made an ISO file which I burned using Nero 5.5.  When I went to boot from this CD, I got an error that it could not boot from the CD, Error Code 4 and something about a floppy drive before that message but went away too fast for me to read.

Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!

I just tried again and this time when I tried to boot from the CD it acted like it was going to boot from the CD.  I got the boot from CD option, I hit enter, I got a message press any key to boot from CD so I started pressing keys and it ignored my request and went to boot from the hard drive.

Please help!!!!

Suggestions:
1) If you want to create a bootable CD for installing Windows XP, all files on the original CD should be added to the image area
2) If you want to create a bootable DVD to restore the windows installed on hard disk, please use Acronis TrueImage or Norton Ghost to image it first, then create a bootable DVD to restore it later.

Thanks.  I copied all the files, I'm pretty sure, from my XP Pro CD to the hard drive.   I added all those files to the image area to be included in the iso file.  I loaded the bif file with the boot image made from the XP CD.  I saved the iso file.  I then burned that iso file to CD using Nero.  I tried to burn using UltraISO but it said my Sony burner could not be detected or something like that.  Nero found it fine.  It is just now when I go to another PC to boot from that CD, I get these problems I mentioned.  So I think I've done what you've suggested...any ideas?

Thanks!

Is your original XP CD bootable?
Please choose 'File'->'Open CD/DVD' to open it and see if the status is 'Bootable CD/DVD'. If yes, you can 'Save As' or press F8 to make a bootable ISO from your original CD.

If no, you can try it this way:
1) Download the attached w2ksect.bin
2) Choose 'File'->'New'->'Bootable CD/DVD' from main menu, and choose w2ksect.bin as boot file
3) Select all files and folders on the orginal XP CD, drag and drop it to the image area
PS: There should be a I386 folder.
4) Save to an ISO and test it
