We purchased a copy of the latest version of UltraISO to use here and we're run into a problem.  We've been able to get it to burn CDs, bootable CDs, and DVDs, but when trying to burn dual-layer 8GB DVD-R discs it can't do it.

UltraISO 7.6.5.1269 is the version we are using here.  The DVD-RW drive is a Plextor with support for Dual-Layer DVD-RW and DVD+RW discs.  We are using MS Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2.

Can anyone help?
We need an answer soon.

Hello TheZorch, UltraISO is a CD/DVD image utility, it cannot burn a Dual-layer DVD disc .

Suggestion: Setup a trial version Nero 6 or 7, then try to burn.

Hi, after running into the same problem, I found this convenient method:

1.  Create ISO using UltraISO.
2.  I then use ImgBurn to burn the dual-layer image with.  It calculates the correct layer break position.  It even has a tool to check the break information located in the ISO image (to use if you've downloaded an ISO and need to check to see if the break is good.  If not re-author).
3.  ImgBurn is free by the way, so doesn't add cost.

I've burned lots of homemade DL video DVD's this way, and all but one have come out great (I think the DVD+R media was bad).

I almost forgot, to use ImgBurn, or any other burning software for that matter, with UltraISO, go to Options->Configurations, click on the "Integration" tab, and then browse to the "ImgBurn.exe" file, and then when you click on the "Burn CD/DVD Image" icon, it will load it automatically into ImgBurn (just as it would with Nero).

I can't say enough about the flexibility of UltraISO, it's a fantastic program!
