What is the best way to store DVD images on a large capacity harddisk?  I am referring primarily to movies, not games, and would like to retain all information from the original DVD without compression, etc.  I would like to be able to watch the movies from the harddisk, but someday I might want to burn them back on to double layer DVD.
It sounds to me like UltraISO and perhaps other similar software can do this (produce a viewable image), but I want to make sure that I am not missing anything.  And, I want to make sure that the image is the best possible quality without any data loss.  And, as I said, I want to make sure that the images are in an appropriate format and qualitiy that will allow me to burn them and "ideally" end up with a perfect backup copy of the original DVD.

As some DVD titles are copy-protected, there is no 'Guaranteed' method or format to reproduce them.

My suggestion is:
1) Image your original DVD to standard ISO format
2) Mount the ISO file to a virtual CD/DVD drive (http://www.ezbsystems.com/softdisc)
3) Play the title
4) If it works, you can reproduce a copy properly
