hello, I am having problems installing a pc game that consists of two ISO files. I mounted both files on a virtual drive and when the install gets half way through, it asks me to insert disk 2. what do I need to do to get this install to work? Is there anyway I can merge the 2 ISO files together? Please help, thanks

This can be reason to ask you for disk 2. In this case you must unmount 1st disk and mount 2nd disk in same VD (the one with same letter). I mean that if you mount your 1st disk in drive F: , fot example, when the installer asked you for 2nd disk, you must mount it in same drive F:, if there is no corrupt in images, installation will continue unimpeded! Good luck. Posted by scotty on Oct. 07 2006,10:48
In the middle of the install, Windows will ask me to select the correct disk, At that point I will mount disk 2 to the same drive disk one was in and hit ok on the windows "select correct disk" window, and then this Component transfer error window pops up:component: sound dialogue files file group: file: Error: catastrophic failure Posted by Dailor on Oct. 11 2006,10:40
(scotty @ Oct. 07 2006,14:48) QUOTE component: sound dialogue files file group: file: Error: catastrophic failure It seem that there is some kind of corruption in 2nd disk. Maybe the error is in result of bad compilation in 2nd ISO. If you have original disks, try to install from them, if not - redownload the 2nd disk (in case you downloaded them from anywhere). You may try to extract (with UltraISO) all files from 2nd disk and then rebuild ISO, but if there is some corruption in files this can`t solve the problem. Goog luck! Dailor |
