Hello.

I made an image of my CD called Cool Edit Pro.  I simply wanted to mount it with Dameon Tools, so I don't have to insert a CD when update on Cool Edit Pro 1.1 is applied with version 1.2a.

Well for some reason I got an error message that Cool Edit Pro is not properly installed, when the update was applied (it reads some information from the commonly invisible area of the CD).

I used UltraISO 8.5 on Windows 2000.

Then I used UltraISO 8.0 (it might have been different CD-rom drive I really can't recall this).  This time it worked fine.  I applied a patch without any difficulties and haven't had any problems.

Has anyone run into this?

If it was my source DVD ROM I'll check into this one more time.  I had a SONY DVDRW 16x but now I have TSSCorp Samsung make.

My Sony wouldn't work with some Compusa dvd's and some other brands so I just ditched it.  My TSSCorp drive has been doing a good job so far and it cost much less.

Hello UDX, could you provide more detailed information about the problem?

1) Full version number of the software you were used
   for example, 8.5.1.1860
2) Format (ISO, BIN, NRG,etc) and  file size of the images created

I tried it on a different computer and this time it seemed to have worked but I did get an error message once.  I have gotten an error message once and then it just went away after reopening an application.

The build number that I have is;

8.5.1.1860

The image type is ISO.

Image size is 600 Megabytes (I added some changes to it - Cool Edit Pro Update 1.2a, Sound Forge 50 F, Cool Edit Pro MP3 plugin).

Either way there is a newer version and I do know it works with 8.0.

Maybe it's the source drive letter I screwed up when mounting an image and using an original CD or something.  Tell you what, let's just ignore this post but if other folx report something similar then it's just good to know.
