When ever I try opening supported image files via the explorer I get this error message

Class name:TfrmMain
Error type:EAccessViolation
Message: Access violation at address 00582CC7 in module 'UltraISO.exe'. Read of address 00000038

I am using the most current version of UltraISO
UltraISO 8.6.3.2052

I do not however have trouble opening files via UltraISO once its open and use the File Menu to open them. It just when you clik on them in Explorer or try to use the Open with UltraISO from the context menu

I have the exact same problem as you describe here also using version 8.6.3.2052. I only had this problem with ISO files created using ultraiso so far. If i try to recreate the same ISO image using ultraiso (that theoretically should be identical to the first file i created) then the second file might be ok. So it doesn't happen with all ISO files i create, but some of them.

If someone tell me where to send it i can send the first megabyte of a ISO image that cause this problem if that could help finding the cause of this error.

Thanks, but I already use the latest version where this is supposed to be fixed already. I use version 8.6.3.2052 and i get the error:

I do not see any error message that says "Cannot open...." and i do not use Vista like described in the pinned topic. I tried on 3 different computers and they all have the same problem with some ISO files created using ultraiso. Also it does not happen if i start ultraiso first and then open the ISO file. Only when i open the file from windows explorer and doubleclick on the ISO file or select "open with ultraiso".

Please re-download and setup UltraISO from links on < http://www.ezbsystems.com/ultraiso/download.htm > ,  and make sure if your problem has been resolved or not.

Thanks that seems to have solved the problem, but then i got another question out of curiosity.
There seems like there are different releases with the same version number. The version i already had that i downloaded earlier got a filesize of 3265450 bytes and the one i downloaded from the link provided got a filesize of 3265899 bytes. Reinstallation of the oldest one did not solve my problem, but the latest one did and they are both version 8.6.3.2052 though. Is there two different releases with the same version number or is just the installer changed? Is there any other bugs that is fixed between those two releases?

I just find this a bit confusing since i cannot find any info in the revision history or any release notes saying there is a new version 8.6.3.2052 released. I found version 8.6.3.2052 in the revision history, but it seems like there are two different releases of version 8.6.3.2052.

Anyway thanks for your help. Everything works fine now.

It seems to me that the origional UltraIso file I used to install must of been corrupted or something. I downloaded the file from the site and have no problem whatsoever

You probably used the same file as i did when you installed ultraiso. It's a bit strange though to release two different releases with the same version number. That makes it hard to really know what release you are using.

It seems that Xoben sometimes will release a new version of UltraISO to quickly fix a bug when a release is just a day or so old (I think that has happened once or twice before).  This causes some initial confusion; not ideal, but not the worst thing that can happen.
