Forum: UltraISO Topic: No virtual CD/DVD drive found started by: gris Posted by gris on Oct. 28 2008,02:01
I followed some tips in one of the posts here about creating a portable ultraISO by installing ultraISO v9.3.1 on a desktop and copying its whole folder, including the "drivers" folder, to an empty folder on another desktop. I also copied ultraISO.ini to the portable folder. After opening the application, I checked out the configurations and found them OK, except for the "virtual drive" tab under the "Options > Configuration". I found that everything under the "virtual drive" tab was greyed out, and when I pressed F6 (the mounting function), a prompt was displayed saying "No virtual CD/DVD drive found!". Please could someone give me advice as to what had happened and how to solve this problem. Many thanks in advance. Posted by gris on Oct. 28 2008,08:41
I have sorted this out now. It was my own misunderstanding. On retest, it worked perfectly. Please allow me to ask another question. In a portable environment, can I exclude the following files from my USB drive: isoshell.dll, ultraiso.ico, and ISODrv64.sys, and what are these files used for? It is recommandeded to keep all files unless you know which file(s) is not needed.

Many thanks, xoben. The reason I asked is that I read somewhere in this forum about creating a portable UltraISO in which it advised files to be copied from the installed folder included "ultraISO.exe" and the "Drivers" sub-folder. However, it made no mention of copying any other files.
