Forum: UltraISO Topic: Enable ISO Filter started by: Knight Posted by Knight on Dec. 26 2008,19:37
Hi.I want to know what does the option "Enable ISO Filter" when creating an image from a disk. What's the diference between an image with this option active and another with it disabled? What the best choice when creating backups from my games? Thanks and sorry for my bad english. Posted by xoben on Dec. 26 2008,20:36
ON: UltraISO will detect size of ISO image by logical volume parameters on a CD/DVD disc.OFF: Size reported by hardware (your CD/DVD-ROM drive) will be used to get an ISO image. Tips: in general, padding blocks (unused blank sectors) of CD/DVD disc will not be included in ISO image if 'Enable ISO Volume Filter' is checked. PS: You may make two ISO's and tell the difference by yourself. Posted by Knight on Dec. 27 2008,06:42
Thanks for your fast reply!! ![]() So, if i understand it well, the best mode for games is with the filter disabled to get a 1:1 copy. Is this correct? I tried the two modes with a game but i didn't notice any difference. Anyway i was worried because i don't know if could be a difference when I try it with other games. Another doubt: when I make an image with filter OFF (Size reported by hardware (your CD/DVD-ROM drive) will be used to get an ISO image) could it be incompatible with other CD/DVD-ROM drives because of that?
