Forum: UltraISO Topic: Problems making an ISO of WinXP Home Edition started by: jaseuk Posted by jaseuk on Feb. 24 2010,15:14
Hi Guys,This is my first post so be gentle with me. I am trying to make an installation disc using XP Home and SP3. I have managed to do this no problems using nLite (I am sure I can do it with UltraISO but not worked it out yet). Anyroad everytime I come to install using the newly created disc I cant get past the Product key stage. It asks me to enter a product key but I am wanting to skip this stage and enter the details once windows is up and running. Whats strange is that I did the exact same process using a Win XP Pro (OEM) disc I had and this works fine. The WinXP Home Edition disc I am using is a Medion recovery CD I got with an old computer. Is this the reason I cant skip the product key stage. Below is the WINNT.SIF data I am using: - [Data] AutomaticUpdates = "Yes" Autopartition = 0 MsDosInitiated = 0 UnattendedInstall = "Yes" [Unattended] UnattendMode = DefaultHide UnattendSwitch = "Yes" OemPreinstall = "Yes" OemSkipEula = "Yes" FileSystem = NTFS WaitForReboot = "No" NoWaitAfterTextMode = 1 NoWaitAfterGUIMode = 1 DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore NonDriverSigningPolicy = Ignore Hibernation = "No" [Display] Xresolution = 800 Yresolution = 600 BitsPerPel = 16 Vrefresh = 60 [SystemRestore] [SetupParams] SkipMissingFiles = "Yes" [GuiUnattended] AutoLogon = "Yes" EncryptedAdminPassword = "No" AdminPassword = "" TimeZone = 085 OEMSkipRegional = 1 OemSkipWelcome = 1 [Shell] DefaultThemesOff = "Yes" DefaultStartPanelOff = "Yes" [Components] [UserData] ProductKey = "" ComputerName = "" FullName = "" OrgName = "" [RegionalSettings] SystemLocale = "0809" UserLocale = "0809" UserLocale_DefaultUser = "0809" InputLocale = "0809:00000452" InputLocale_DefaultUser = "0809:00000452" [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents = "Yes" [Identification] JoinWorkgroup = "" any help would be great If I remove all the infomation relating to [UserData] will this make any difference ![]() Posted by xoben on Feb. 24 2010,20:22

Yeah I did do that and it never worked.I read somewhere that using a Recovery CD will not work if used on a computer other than the one it came originally pre-installed on. |
