When I bust out a VCD using ISOBuster and then using that same CD I bust it out using UltraISO I get the same amount of AVSEQ*.dat files but the sizes of each file are slightly different and then, of course, the hashes are off. I’ve tried several different ways of busting out using ISOBuster but am still not getting the same files hashes. So I have two questions.
1. Why are the files a different size (but visually - when played, contain the same videos)? 2. Which program actually exports the RAW data as it is on the CD? – i.e. which hash do I believe?
Thanks, Scott

In general, there are three possible cases for extracting VCD DAT files: 1) MPEG stream only 2) RAW sectors, by default, ISO Buster will save to this format 3) Standard DAT file with RIFF header, UltraISO willl save to this format by default
Tips: 1) If you copy files from VCD to harddisk by Windows explorer, case 3 will be used. So this is the most prefered method 2) All VCD authoring program can support all of the three cases properly, do not worry about the difference
