Previously I was using v7.6.1081 and I could create a homebrew disk with a bunch of files on it that would be in 8.3 format and then open it in UltraISO, edit the filenames to the proper ones, click save and it would save INSTANTLY. Then I could burn it and pop it in my PS2 and voila, worked fine, no problems.
Yesterday or the night before I downloaded and installed the newest version (8.1.2.1625) to test it out to see if it was worth keeping, but I am not having too many great results as of yet.
ALL of the UDF ISOs being created work fine, until I use UltraISO. Even if I rename a file in the ISO and only remove a single letter from it, once I hit the Save button, it recompiles the ISO, regardless of the options selected. That was problem one. So I tried about 6 different times... renaming, changing the properties to 'Max(221)' for the naming scheme (which used to work with v7.6.0.1081 perfectly, also with the quick save). Nothing. Any help on this would be great or I think I just might downgrade to my previous version.
**edit** spaced out and forgot problem two... onto that
Problem two is the fact that every time I burn a disc after saving it with UltraISO now, I get errors saying 'This disc cannot be loaded'. The only other error close to that I have seen was 'This disc cannot be read' -- the disc was scratched beyond repair and so it could not read from it, but it had worked in the past. These new ones being created by UltraISO can't even be read. Kinda sucks.

Hello fortwunty, please try version 8.1.2.1625 this way: 1) Choose 'Options'->'Configurations' from main menu, switch to 'Save' page and uncheck 'Recompile ISO when saving directly' 2) After a PS2 ISO is opened, choose 'File'->'Properties', and uncheck 'UDF' 3) Do as version 7.6.0.1081
Note: 1) If 'Recompile ISO when saving directly' is checked, the original disc layout will be changed. Please uncheck this option for editing PS2 ISOs. 2) Uncheck 'UDF' will active 'Joliet' and 'ISO 9660' volume, otherwise UDF will be the first volume to be processed by most systems

Alrght, I'm downgrading back to v7.6.0.1081 because I know it works exactly as I need it to. This new version breaks something. If I create an ISO with UltraISO and make it IDENTICAL to one created with my other method, the UltraISO one never boots. Nor if I save an already created ISO. Nice program, but not working@#!$ Bye bye v8.

After downgrading, UltraISO now reports the file properties as just the ISO 9660 file system + Joliet Standard(64).... but the Joliet flag itself is not checked. No more UDF. No more Omit ISO 96600 version number. All settings in UltraISO are STILL the exact same as when I had this version before. Clicking Save no longer recompiles the ISO (unlike v8... whether I had the option set or not, it would recompile).
-----
ISO File Properties:
VERSION 7.6 Right after creating the ISO (v7.6)
Right after editing+saving the ISO (v7.6)

VERSION 8.1 Right after creating the ISO (v8.1)
Right after editing+saving the ISO (v8.1)

-----
Notice how v8.1 somehow recognizes a UDF flag that v7.6 fails to pick up? v8.1 is picking up on something that isn't there... or the other way around, but v7.6 handles it properly and after saving the ISO, it still works... unlike v8.1 , which totally !^%@$# everything up. Just felt like giving an update to the situation.

UltraISO 8.1.2.1625 update2 has a new (default) option for not importing UDF volume of PS2 CD/DVD images, so you can edit PS2 ISOs with V8 now.
