Im trying to burn a 7.5 gig DVD but when I put in a brand new Memorex dual layer DVD it says disc not empty. But when I check the CD/DVD, it says it IS empty. What gives? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Please upgrade to latest version 8.6 and see if your problem has been resolved.
