Hi,

I am wondering if it is possible to create an XP install CD onto a USB drive.

I have downloaded an iso of XP SP3 directly from the MS EOpen website (so I know it is good).  I burned it to a disk and it will boot to the install.

The problem is when I write the diskimage to the USB key using USB-HDD (and USB-HDD+).

I get a txtSetup.sif error when trying to install the OS.  Any idea why this is happening?

Is it possible to create a XP install USB key using UltraISO?

Thanks,
JOe K.

Sorry, I should have read farther down.

Is it possible to install OSX using BartPE?  I am looking for a method to turn a USB drive into an install disk for bootable images.

Hi,

first sorry for my bad english. I have exactly the same problem and tried the solution from the pinned topic. But that's not what i wanted to do.

I very often use nLite to make a unattended custom Windows CD with SP3 and the latest hotfixes. When i did it like tjcinnamon in first post i get also the txtSetup.sif setup error message. With BartPE it works well, but that is converse of unattended install because you have to much to do before the real installation starts.

So is there any chance in feature release of UltraISO supporting windows xp installation from a usb flash drive "out of the box" without extra programs?

yours sincerely

Bartek
