Hello,

I am trialling UI and its internal burn engine on some ISO's. The application GUI gets blocked at "Setting optimum power calibration" step. It eventually terminates with the following log:

QUOTE
1# Windows Vista 6.0 Build 6002 (Service Pack 2)
1# Recorder: (H:)MATSHITABD-MLT SW-5583  1.00
1# Write Speed: 4X (5540 KB/s)
2# Media type: DVD-RW
3# Formatting may take 1-2 minutes.
4# Erase successful.
5# Number of blocks in ISO image is 254575
6# Preparing media ...
7# Requesting burn at 4X speed
8# Setting optimum power calibration ...
9# Error setting timestamp
10# Error reserving zone for burn
11# Caching of files started
12# Caching of files completed
13# Burn process started, speed is 0.0X (0 KB/s)
14# Burning process failed!
15# LBA: 0
16# NO ADDITIONAL SENSE INFORMATION

After that, my drive is no longer recognised by UI nor other burning programs, until I reboot PC.

It is unlikely to be a Drive/Media/Firmware case. The very same ISO's burn flawlessly with ImgBurn, DVDFab or UI using NeroAPI,

Other relevant software installed: Nero 7, DVDFab 5, AnyDVD HD, ImgBurn, PowerDVD. All with license and recently updated. I have tried to deactivate or close down all of them, virtual drives included, and even tried to burn in safe mode. Nothing helps.

So this remains a mystery to me, I hope you can help sorting it out.

Many thanks in advance,
AL

Thank you ArnoldLayne for your bug report.

We will try to get this brand of BD-Multiple writer (MATSHITA BD-MLT SW-5583) for testing later.

I think it is actually discontinued by Panasonic. If you happen to have a BD-capable Sony Vaio among your test equipment, it's not impossible that it has this drive.

Cheers
