This has happened a few times now.
A file replaced within an ISO will be corrupt when read from the final CD.
If I rebuild the ISO from scratch (so no files are replaced/updated) then the final CD is fine.

This is what I was doing:

I created a BartPE bootable CD, see here : http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/
I have that working OK

Then I decided to follow this article: http://www.911cd.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=10482

It involves replacing the RAMDISK.SYS within the BartPE ISO previously built (and working).
I did this with UltraISO and saved to a new name.

When booting off the final CD I get this error:

> The file ramdisk.sys is corrupted.

So I went back and re-created the ISO from scratch, making sure all the required file versions were already present. This produced a working CD.
UltraISO is version 7.5.1.965.

Hello tim,

Just tested it this way:
1) Download latest version BarrtPE 3.1.3 from http://www.nu2.nu/download.php?sFile=pebuilder313.exe (California selected)
2) Setup BartPE, run it, select a Windows XP SP2 CD as source, and generate an ISO image (pebuilder.iso)
3) Download Windows 2003 SP1 RC from http://www.microsoft.com/downloa....ang=en, got srsp1.exe
4) Extract ramdisk.sy_ from srsp1.exe, expand to ramdisk.sys, 22,528 bytes
5) Open pebuilder.iso by UltraISO, replace ramdisk.sys by the new file, click 'Save As' to get a new ISO image (pe2.iso)
6) Test pe2.iso by Vritual PC, it works

UltraISO version: 7.5.1.965

WTH?

I did it all again and it worked OK.
This has happened before, I think I have mentioned the problem in a previous post somewhere.

Wish I knew why that has happened (now and previously).
